i don\'t know.  i don\'t know how much more powerful can computer get in just the same size of how the computer has always been and when will they reach the limit either...same could be said about videogames console too.  The consoles get a lot powerful after each generation.  But they are still the same size compare to previous generations.

Anybody here knows?  Soulgrind?

Does anybody else believe that computer speed will plateau one day? I already feel my computer is more powerful than anything I will use it for. Sometimes gets laggy and wish I had a bit more RAM or CPU speed but I do some maintenance and it works like the day I bought it.

If you mean a physical plateau, then yes, with the current architecture. But then they\'ll invent something new; they always do. But if you meant if we actually need more speed than currently available, then hell yes (well not if you just want to check your email from time to time). But for high definition video editing and 3D work and so on, you can utilize as fast a computer as possible.

Good point. And I\'m probably going to be seeing this when I get into the tv/film industry after college. When I get out into the world, I\'m going to be working with mostly HD so its probably a good thing the next computer I get is crazy fast like clips and a hot shorty
