Yes it is. I am not sure what the article was about. I assume what they are saying is that the performance ,due to some techniques I am not aware of so I can not understand them, can reach higher peaks.

But it could also be someone pulling things out of his pockets, taking info from here and there, and interpret them as he sees fit, only to build false high expectations regarding the PS3\'s performance.

Can someone post this to beyond3d? I can only trust what they are saying there.

They many times debunked false info about the PS3 posted in other forums, some were made on purpose to reduce its popularity and others to raise it. This could be no exception

AFAIK there are no 9 cores in CELL. Is it really reliable? Are we sure this is indeed for the PS3\'s CELL??

PS3 does not have 9 cores, but it does have 9 threads.

8 SPUs, one de-activated. 7 threads for 7 SPUs, one PPE processor which has 2 threads.
7+2 = 9
