Y\'know i hope this downloading games doesn\'t turn into the standard for the big name games...i rather prefer a physical copy of a game rather than a downloaded copy,...it pisses me off that i had to order the new siren from overseas...a game i felt they could\'ve released at retail....as long as the big name titles don\'t turn into downloadable content, i\'m good...i actually remember sony stating something along the lines of doing away with physical disks altogether awhile back, but i hope they don\'t fully go thru with that....cause that would be the day that i stop gaming.

Why?

physical media can break or malfunction after a period of time. They also take way to much space. I only keep my GC, DS, PS2 and PS3 close and it\'s taking a full drawer. The only drawback, is that you can\'t currently sell your digital possession to someone. If Sony were to come up with a service where you can sell your digital games (or movies and music) it would kick ass :D

edit: Also, digital media are "suppose" to  make games cost less since you don\'t have all the manufacturing stuff and 3rd party profits.

Yeah i know it\'ll cut down on shipping and manufacturing....but i don\'t do online,...and i would figure that downloading stuff would take up huge amounts of space...i\'d just rather have a physical copy than be bothered with downloading stuff...

we\'ve had physical copies since the beginning, so naturally its going to be weird transferring to a new system. But i think it\'s going to be a long-while before things are totally digital.

Have a feeling it\'s going to be like warhawk, where you can get either one for a while. personally, im also still comfortable having a tangible product in my hands.

The only thing i\'ve downloaded is portal. and after i formatted my computer, i\'ve been too lazy to go through all the damn steps in order to get the game back on my computer. If i had a physical copy, all i\'d have to do is stick the cd back in

As Viper already said, we are used with physical copies since Atari 2600 and Mattel Intellivision, so for me it\'s weird to immagine anything different from this.   But if we\'ll have to download all games, it won\'t be anything soon.

actually gaming companies and sony dont want you to sale the game. they make no revenue from used games being sold over and over. so really the fact it cant be sold is a plus im sure for them

Completely off-topic...sub,..be careful in the coming days down there....i hear there\'s a possible cat 3 hurricane possibly heading your way...:ohnoes:...that tropical storm fay spurnned a couple of tornadoes in georgia,...nothin\' major, but i think katrina was only a cat 1 when it hit, and computer models are saying that it\'s going to hit the gulf as a cat 3....i\'m hoping that thing just goes off in another direction tho...i can only imagine what a cat 3 hurricane would do to that area that is still recovering from katrina...

Oh no she didn’t! Except she totally did, roundhouse kick a tiger in the face that is. Eidos has released yet another minute-long clip of Tomb Raider: Underworld gameplay, once again showing the beautiful Thailand locale and even more of those smooth animations and moves the new Lara sports in Underworld, one of which is letting whoever she’s up against know what her right boot tastes like. How very Chuck Norris of her.
