RUMOR: Resident Evil 2 Remake? It’s possible, and you can chalk this up totally to rumor. The website slashgamer.com is running with the story that an unnamed Capcom representative at WonderCon admitted that SOMETHING was happening with Resident Evil 2.

Whether that something is as simple as a ‘wiimake’, i.e., a re-release of the original game outfitted with Wii controls, or something more substantial, is totally up in the air.

While fans have been begging Capcom to remake the classic Resident Evil games with the Resident Evil 4 engine, the more likely call (and honestly preferable in our mind) is a Gamecube-style Resident Evil 1/Resident Evil Zero pre-rendered update downloadable via PSN and? Xbox Live.

Again, this is all wishful thinking and speculation.? Here’s the curious post to decipher as you will.? Again, could be bullshot…but we’d put money down that Capcom’s up to something.

During a Q&A segment at the Resident Evil 5 Wondercon panel, Capcom was asked by an enthusiastic fan about a possible Resident Evil 2 remake. Mike Webster of Capcom decided to respond to the answer. He said, ?Stay tuned, we absolutely understands that these are classic games,? and added, ?Some announcements, that you will be very interested in [are on the way].?

I would love RE1 and 2 back on PS3 !

I honestly wouldn\'t mind havin\' a "good" port of the RE1 remake that came out some years ago for the cube...as i\'ve heard that game was really good....as far as them remaking prt2?...idk...even tho i like prt2 the best out of the series....part of me thinks they need to keep the classic games just that....it\'s funny tho, because it really is hard for me to go back and play that game after experiencing current generation graphics...

If they can make a remake as good as the first one, i\'d probably consider it.
