Wifey just purchased this for my b-day yesterday....I haven\'t played it, but overall i heard that the game, while good is a bit underwhelming...still i want to see some of the answers that sons of liberty left unanswered.

Wow...I\'am really impressed with this one...i know alot of people give this game some heat because of the cutscenes, but i\'m really enjoying them,...i still trying to get a hang of the controls and the addition of the rebels actually have made the game a bit easier for me...:p..(i always end up helping them out)...i just got past the point where.......SPOILER...........you rescue naomi....and she\'s teh sexay!!...:D...and kojima is a bit of a perv...the camera angle after you defeat that octapus enemy has the camera virtually lookin\' up her coochie and you can even see the print of it...:p...or maybe i\'m looking too hard?....:D...anyway absolute fantastic game...

One last thing, why do those machines make cow sounds? and what\'s even more weird is that in that scene were raiden is fighting those things why are these machines spilling blood?....that\'s a bit hokey, i know this game revolves around military weapons, but if kojima actually wanted to create some bio-creatures, i think there\'s enough room in the storyline for him to have done that,..robots spilling blood, in the sense that he was trying to do here, seems a bit silly...still it\'s a great game and the production values are thru the roof...

Just finished 2nd act at Big Boss extreme; I\'m enjoying the Game more, more challenging, and I\'m noticing a lot of things I didn\'t notice the first time I played.

Finally finished the game...and what a great send off for snake....there\'s really incredible production values found in this game. I liked how they took the game back to to the psx era in certain areas and they gave a nod to alot of the other previous titles before it, and there were  alot of nostalgia(spel)...moments throughout the game.

I also *gasp* actually enjoyed the storyline..in previous titles i felt like i was playing" the adventures of solid snake in metal gear"....but within this title, i truly felt that the story was waay bigger than snake and that he only played a small role in it. I\'m not quite sure i\'d give it a ten, but it\'s pretty darn close...my score...9.7...:fro:

New MGO Bomb mission!

Quote

The Bomb Mission has defenders stop explosions while attackers try to make explosions. A bit like Jack Bauer and whatever terrorists are in fashion at the time of writing, we lose track.

Attackers must plant bombs at prescribed locations and protect them by sticking around until they blow up.

Defenders, on the other hand, need to stop the attackers getting to their target or nullify the bomb with coolant spray.

The Bomb Mission arrives amidst the Rookie Campaign for Metal Gear Online. This rewards newcomers with thousands of in-game points to spend on crocodile hats, afro wigs and camouflage suits.

Only those who have never registered or installed the online multiplayer accompaniment to Metal Gear Solid 4 will be eligible for the 5000 point giveaway, and the offer closes on 16th February.

Hello everyone - I’m excited to announce details of the new Metal Gear Online SCENE Expansion pack! Coming in March, there will be tons of new content to keep old and new players alike entertained: new maps, special characters, new gear, and of course a couple surprises.

First, I’m excited to announce that now, in order to make the SCENE Expansion more accessible, players will be able to use their PayPal account, along with their PlayStation Network Wallet, if they so choose, to purchase the SCENE Expansion.

For those players that want to get a head start on the action and pre-order SCENE through Metal Gear Online’s in-game shop or Konami’s shop, there’s a special gift in store. Once the pre-order period starts, one week before the release date, all players who pre-order SCENE will receive a special “cardboard man” head gear for free. It should definitely provide ample cover for any bad hair day.

Now for the stuff I know you all are most excited about, the new maps and characters!

The first new map is Outer Outlet, an all new environment that takes place in a commercial mall area made up of lots of buildings and subterranean areas. Multiple floors with openings onto the areas above and below will offer many unique vantage points from which to stage the action, while the décor will provide plenty of unexpected places to seek cover. It should be ideal for medium to long range battles.

Second is Hazard House, set in a huge three story mansion – a take on the one seen from Act II of the MGS4 single player game. Lots of doors, hallways, and blind corners, will make for intense claustrophobic combat.

Third is Ravaged Riverfront – a take on the Eastern European environment from Act III of the MGS4 single player game - with a large clock tower surrounded by lots of underground and underwater areas. Lots of clear space, perfect for long range attacks.

SCENE will also bring two long awaited, much requested, special characters to MGO – Raiden and Vamp, both with impressive special abilities and offensive power to spare! First is Vamp, knife-expert extraordinaire. You may be able to defeat him once, but that’s no guarantee he won’t be back for more! Second is Raiden, whose appearance belies his extraordinary skill and agility in combat. They are formidable opponents, or one of them can be a great ally to have on your team. Yes, you will indeed be able to have a multiplayer battle between Raiden and Vamp, which is a fun as it looks! More specifics about their abilities will be revealed soon!

Next week, we will be releasing a trailer for SCENE on the PlayStation Network and the PlayStation Blog, so please look out for that. There’s even more on the way with the SCENE Expansion – stay tuned to the PlayStation Blog in the coming weeks for more details!

Konami Seeks Metal Gear Staff

Quote

March 9, 2009 - Once again providing confirmation that Metal Gear Solid didn\'t end at part 4, Konami has posted a job listing at a Japanese recruitment site seeking staff for new Metal Gear projects.

Posted on Friday, the job listing states that Konami is hiring a large number of staff for "new developments" in the Metal Gear series. The listing makes mention of both mobile and consumer entries (consumer refers to consoles and portables rather than PC, arcades, and mobile devices).

Rumor: Metal Gear Solid 5 Revealed At or Before E3!

Quote

According to a rumor in the latest issue of PlayStation: The Official Magazine (Issue # 018), Metal Gear Solid 5 will be announced by Konami some time in April or May.  We personally think that such a major announcement would be better suited for E3, but we’d like to think PTOM knows what they are talking about.

Speculation suggests a prequel (to Metal Gear Solid 4)featuring Raiden and how he became a Cyborg Ninja, and managed to save Sunny from the Patriots, or a squad based game featuring the newly formed FOXHOUND team being led by Meryl.

PTOM also notes that MGS5 might not be directed by Kojima, but he would probably be involved in some way.  They also go on to say that Kojima might have his hands full working on Max Savage, a game that was originally a dream sequence Big Boss had in MGS3.

E3 is only a few months away, so this rumored announcement may be coming much sooner than later.
