Section 8 demo (xbox)
« on: August 31, 2009, 11:18:50 AM »
Theres a pretty cool multiplayer demo out right now on xbox live. Never heard of this game before but I think its definitely worth a look.

Also there is a demo for a game called WET which is a gun / sword game that I actually found to be really fun. I hated Devil May Cry so that kind of ruined my impression of games with this combat style.

Lastly there is another multiplayer / single player demo for Dirt 2 which was also a good time and i\'m not one to like racing games but this one holds my intention.

Some good short but FREE fun to be had at the moment. By the way, summer 2009 has been absolute shit for games. Kinda sad how i\'m enjoying these demos as much or more than many of the new releases i\'ve rented over the past couple months. Oh well tho, Halo ODST on Sept 22nd and modern warfare 2 and left for dead 2 right around the corner after that.

I didnt give section 8 too much of a chance..like 10 minutes and 1 death, but i found the walking too slow for such a big map. plus it seemed to generic to drop 60 bucks on it. Can play halo and probably get what I want out of that type of game.

Dirt 2 I liked but it\'ll get buried by the other games for me. I already have 4 or 5 on my for-sure list and thats like 300 bucks. My main complaint is kind of nit-picky in that the menu is childishly hokey. The first one was slick but this ones like "OOO EXTREME COLORS AND CATCHY PHRASES!"

Lost Planet 2 is another demo to try out. It\'s coop and it\'s pretty time consuming. Not sure if you get to kill the monster (thats the whole demo/coop mode is killing huge creatures) since it was going to take too long to play it alone

but yea..only 1 more months till all the games come out

Forgot about LP2 but that was definitely a fun demo and a great co-op mode.

With Section 8 hold down the left thumbstick and after you jog for a couple seconds you bust out into like warp speed and you can make it from one end of the map to the other in under 30 seconds - if you got a clean run, bump into anything and you\'ll be knocked out but it recharges very fast. Out of all the classes i\'m yet to run out of speed burst on any of them.

Also I like how they let you create custom classes here in the demo.

I do plan on getting WET....the game isn\'t going to be AAA status, but i think it\'s going to be fun to play...i like the quintin taratino(spel)/kill bill feel of it.

And uh...does section 6 have to do poor urban housing projects??......:D...j/k

I kinda slept on the 1st lost planet for ps3...i heard it wasn\'t that great graphically,...so i\'m gonna wait for lost planet 2 which looks to be a much different game from the first one....it kinda reminds me of a high tech shadow of the colossus.

As far as devil may cry goes,...i kinda forgot about that series when god of war came out...i haven\'t looked back since...tho i do feel that the very first devil may cry is still one of the best in the series.

One last thing i did notice is that games that were originally slated for the holiday season are being pushed into the first quarter of 2010...and i think this is because nobody wants their big games to get lost in the holiday shuffle.

It\'s weird because you\'d think the holidays would be a time for big name games to shine, and they did, but other games that were slated to also gain big sales did not...the economy has alot to do with it as well....so the pickings for this holiday season will be slim, but early next year we\'re going to have some quality games drop.
knowledge, wisdom & understanding..these are the basic fundamentals of life

if you can\'t amaze them with brilliance, baffle them with bullsh*t....
