Was a very pleasant experience overall. I highly recommend getting married in Vegas if you dont have family breathing down your neck for a big traditional wedding.

congrats to you on getting married :thumb:

$15k is boatload of change for a single day, but do your thing.

I\'m thinking we\'d rather just elope when the time comes, and spend the rest of the money on the honeymoon

Yea, Id rather put that $15k towards a home for the two of you if neither already own one.

Its around a year away. We\'re both saving right now.  It\'s odd, I was engaged to my previous for four years, but never once discussed being married. It just was something we didn\'t talk about .  My current, we\'re already planning a budget and everything.

It\'s a huge story, but anyway, yeah, looks like, if everything goes A-OK, I\'ll be getting married this time next year. We\'ve already decided on Paris for a honeymoon. At this point, we both are just saving for it all, as both sets of parents are not exactly able to help.

Congrats LIC...me personally, I just did the city hall thing...me and the wifey didn\'t want a huge ball of debt waitin\' for us after the wedding and honeymoon was over, and we were trying to save up for a home at the time anyway.

It is one of those special moments tho when you do it big (the reception/honeymoon etc)...so enjoy! And it sounds like you\'re doin\' the right thing by saving early so you can just pay everything off....again congrats...:thumb:

Way I figure it is, if we don\'t make it \'till that date, then its money in the bank. If we do, then it\'s all good and it\'ll be special. I\'m so very glad I didn\'t marry "my babies mamma". We were engaged all those years and I never once mentioned actually marrying her. It\'s just one of those things, you know when someone is right and isn\'t.

Big weddings are stupid.  Sorry.  I don\'t remember mine at all.  Small ceremony at a country club.  I am so glad I didn\'t have a huge wedding.  We went to Vegas right after the wedding and then went to Jamaica a couple months later.  We got married in September which is hurricane season so we decided to go to Vegas first.  I doubt if we spent more than 6 grand for everything including vacations.  I don\'t remember though.
