I wish this game was droppin\' on ps3....early on in it\'s development it was originally being created for both the 360 and the ps3........microsoft\'s deep pockets paid off with this one...at least there\'s a small possibility of the ps3 seeing the mass effect series at some point...

The game is looking great tho....kinda makes me feel like this is what Alone in the Dark should\'ve been like...

A video from Remedy reveals a little to gamers about what goes into the design and programming of a game like Alan Wake. No surprise: lighting matters.

Ever wondered what kind of graphical design tools are at the disposal of some of the industry\'s biggest developers? In this video featurette from Remedy, you get a glimpse into how the techs at Remedy model the environment, film character movement, and throw that final coat of paint on it to make the game shine, so to speak.

While the video doesn\'t delve too deeply into the intricacies of the development process, it highlights some of the challenges faced by developers hoping to create large, detailed environments and the sophisticated programs needed to accomplish those tasks.

Of course, they make it look easy.  Pick up a house over here, drop it over there, throw in some real-time movement tracking and some voice acting and you got your game, right? Well, the five or so years of development time that Remedy has put into Alan Wake will probably dissuade you of that myth, but the video is interesting nonetheless.
