Supposedly, on Gamespot's website there is a listing for Uncharted for PS4. Can't help but wonder if this is either a mistake or if Naughty Dog's unannounced game is a new installment of the series. I can't help but wonder if this is a new direction with Naughty Dog. Historically, they never crossed over into new generations with game series, such as Crash Bandicoot for PSX, Jak and Daxter for PS2. They only ever focus one generation at a time. Even The Last of Us was a change in their usual way of developing games. Rumor has it the next Last of Us will be PS4 and this listing makes me wonder. I for one hope they stick with their old method of a game series staying in a particular generation.
If the next Uncharted or even the next Last of Us installment (and I pray they make another) is moving to PS4, part of me feels it's not going to be the same. There is a certain look and feel of a game series when it develops and stays on a certain console generation I feel is lost when the graphics is updated. The one thing I like about the Uncharted series was when I played the first and third game, yes they evolved a bit but it still felt the same from the first to the third game. I hope if this is true, the essence of the game isn't lost.
