XBox One Costs $471 to Build according to IHS

Its interesting both Sony and Microsoft CPUs are built from 28 nm process geometry from AMD.  Which isn't as small as Intel 3rd and 4th generation i3 - i7 CPUs which are built from 22 nm process geometry.  But its still pretty small process geometry compares to AMD CPUs for computers which are built from 32 nm  process geometry.  the smaller the process geometry, the more volume it has on same size chip i think, meaning more powerful CPUs compare to bigger process geometry.

MS's BOM would probably be a lot lower if they didn't make you get kinect at the same time.

the BOM for the kinect is $75, and the external power supply cost $25.  that's $100 total.  I didn't know it cost more money to have external power supply.

probably microsoft wanted to save space on the xbox one i think.  if they built it internally, the console will be even more bigger than it already is.  which does makes the ps4 built very well when it come space saver.

I assumed the power supply was in the Xbone because of how big it is
