firewire hub??????
« on: December 24, 2000, 07:21:22 AM »
i have recently been told that you will be able to network a few ps2\'s together using a firewire hub?
if this is correct how much do they cost and where do you buy them?
Also how many ps2\'s will you be able to plug into them?
I understand that the games are the limiting factor at the moment but they should catch up sooner or later!

I live in the uk but if some indication of release dates in the us or japan are given i can get a rough idea of when the stuff will come out here

I don\'t think it is possible. But if it is that would kick ass. Firewire is sooooo much faster than anything else on the market.

BTW, Why would you want to do this?

Using a hub is just too much of a hassle. You would then need to use multiple TVs. That would suck.

GT3 can run up to 6 players (2 per machine), 3 PS2 units connected by firewire cables/hub :)

You can via Firewire. Unreal Tourament is the only game out there that supports it currently. You need two TVS/TWO PS2S/TWO UNREAL TOURAMENTS/ Cables/ and of course the hub itself.

Think of it like the highly annoying link cable for the PSone. Unless, you know a bunch of friends who have the stuff needed, and plan on throwing a party, its pretty much useless.
