my impressions...

I finally had a chance to play the Psx2 demo disc at my local CompUSA.  I played Dynasty Warriors 2, Madden 2001, and AC2 for brief periods of time.  I\'m sorry to say I was less than thrilled with any of the games except for Madden.

Dynasty Warriors played sikly smooth, and had some great effects.  It was responsive but seemded like I could get a lil repetitive after a while.  My major gripe was that it wasn\'t clear, it was blurry as hell, and the jaggies were still apparent.  Now I have to say that this monitor that C.USA was using probally wans\'t all that good either.

AC2 was just like the orginal which I loved.  It that isn\'t a bad thing.  I know that I had the low-end level mech and it probally isn\'t as flashly as the expensive ones, but it wasn\'t the graphically impressive, over anything I\'ve seen before.  And the control was ok, but without the analog support it gets a major negative on my scale.

Madden 2001, the bright in this darkness.  The 60fps was sooo damn noticeable its not funny.  I played NFL2K1 the previous day, and there is a huge difference in the animations, and movements.  Madden seems smoother, in its transtions etc.  Graphically they\'re both good, I\'llhave to tip my hat to Madden because of its attention to minute details, but it in no way blows out NFL2K in graphics.


I know half of you don\'t know me, cus forums get a new batch of kids every few months or so.  But I\'d just like to say hello to everyone, and especially to those who know/remeber me.

I remember you from Waaaaay back:) Well, I like the games so far, but yes, they are underwhelming.

I expect to be amazed shortly though. I saw the Ace Combat 4 and MGS2 videos and I have no doubts. I\'m just waiting for some rpg\'s:)

i have all those games i think there great , most people dont like Armored Core 2 but i think its great .

A few things to mention. First, if you played the demos on the flatscreen demo unit that is why the picture was a bit odd. Second, as I have two of the games on the disc it is quite easy for me to say the demo does not do either much justice. Dynasty Warriors 2, as someone else said earlier requires more than that one level. Armored Core II\'s demo almost prevented me from picking it up, however since purchasing it I have not regretted my purchase once.

no doubt, I know I have to play the final version.  I was just throwing out my brief impressions on those games.  But they were know where as bad as people made them out to be.  How good is AC2?  I loved the orginal, is this sequel any good?

I never thought I would say this. But, if anything the PS2 is an investment in the future. While the games right now are not a huge leap, they will be eventually.

Umm, in some sorts I agree with you Beer (as well as saying hi to you! ). Anways, yes not all games are blowing ever DC\'s 2-3 quarter out of the water, such as you said in Madden. Of course they are not going to blow them out of the water, Silly Billy. Anways, I hope you change your mind and see the light, and eventually buy the PS2...later.

ahhhh, hell yeah I\'m getting a Psx2.  I\'ve been waiting 4 one since back in 98/97, when the psx2 was 1st starting to become heavily speculated.
