what does the ps2 do better than the others ?

ELASESINO,every NON-BIAS person thinks PS2 has most of the chances to prevail over the others...this is my opinion and this is the opinion of millions of people!
You can write all the unconfirmed games on GC you want but you should know that everybody could write 3 times the games on PS2...with the difference they are confirmed...you are free,obviously,to have your own opinion but you have to know that your one of the few people who believe PS2 has no one advantage over the competitors!
When I first came to this Forum(this is the only Forum I read),I saw people flaming and fighting each against the other like beasts...so...I thought...this is only a joke...me too,me too,and I began to flame people writing rubbish like(X-Box seems great only on paper or DC=DEADCAST)...but...with time I have begun to understand how much IDIOT I was and that there are so many people(like Dr Yassam,for example) who know a lot of things and that you can learn a lot and improve your knowledge thanks to them....so,NOW,I\'m looking at this Forum like a Tool to pick up useful informations!

  You know what.  This thread doesn\'t matter anymore.  I could show all the proof as to why GameCube would prevail, but it wouldn\'t do anything.  I\'m just going wait until E3.

Hmmm...

a little bit of enlightenment--first off, ps2 may have less theoretical raw power than either the gamecube or the xbox...but that doesn\'t matter.  All three are very close in terms of power.  Now, as far as ps2\'s main advantage...where to start--I will begin with what seems to be an addvantage for the competition.  Being able to do certain polygon manipulations built into hardware--that\'s their main advantage over the ps2...that\'s a big advantage for 1st and most likely 2nd generation games because developers can use the special polygon manipulations (ie bumpmapping, certain types of dynamic lighting, etc.)--right off the bat.  But because both nintendo and microsoft have the special effects down in hardware...they got arrogant and forgot that new developments are happening all the time in polygon manipulation...and if they are not included in hardware...they MUST be done through software (some pretty intricate and specific programming i might add).  This is where the PS2 really shines.  The PS2 has 2 vector units (units specialized for complex floating point calculations)...these vector units can be programmed through software to do an almost endless number of things (new effects that haven\'t even been thought of yet included)...this is why ps2 was dubbed a "supercomputer" and there was the whole missle guidance thing. Because technically a supercomputer is a computer with specially designed floating point units called "vector units"...because no other system has vector units they cannot and will not be considered supercomputers.  These vector units will also allow the ps2 to utilize special features not supported by any of the upcoming systems in hardware: including nurbs, bezier curves, and some type of ray-tracing like effects---also although other systems may have higher polygon counts supposedly...ps2 will most likely have the best skinning effects, due to these vector units.  This is what makes models and environments on the PS2 look amazing.  This is also the PS2\'s main advantage...you will begin to really see its affects in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th generation of games...don\'t give up on the PS2 yet--dual vector units and freakishly fast bus speeds for streaming data constantly--a true videogame architecture.
