Countdown to PS3!

Lol! PS3 is already in developement, as is the follow up to GC, and DC. Hopefully Microsoft will NOT release anything after Xbox.....actually, I wish they weren\'t releasing Xbox...oh well. I used to loathe Playstations a while back but now that I know MS are trying to make a games console I no longer hate PSX/PS2. It\'s Xbox I loathe (gotta hate something )

you\'re weird, why would you hate a console? I mean, I have more trust in ps2 than in xbox, and I\'m not very fund of microsoft and their business, but to say I hate the xbox, that doesn\'t make sense,
btw. whether or not the new dc is in development is in now way for sure, cause sega is thinking of becoming a games developer for other platforms

in my ops2 magasine it says something about the gs cube, which has the power of 16 playstation 2\'s but i dont think this will actually be developed, and if it is, it wont be for a long time.

It wont be, the gs cube is just a ****load of ps2\'s connected with each other, so it gets faster and faster, sony made the thing to show what we will be capable of in the future, and maybe to make movies like ff, the spirits within, it is in no way the ps3

Actauly polititepet, on the contrary, their is a new console by Sega coming out. And they are not developing games for other CONSOLE platforms. Rather, for cell phoes, PDA\'s, and maybe the occasional GBA or WS game. They are also thinking about porting old Saturn games to the PSX.

Sega\'s new machine is supposed to be a monster though, X-Box, PS2, etc. dont even touch the crust of the power this thing is supposed to have. It is going to be huge, no matter if they use the SoA version (the one I know of) or the SoJ version (which will probably be more powerful ) I just hope DC lasts 2 more successful years at least to provide the income Sega will need to launch the console properly al la what MS is doing with the 500 million budget they have for X-Box.

it better be faster than the ps2 and xbox and gc, cause if it is indeed in development, it wont be out the first couple of years, and as for the game making stuff, I didn\'t say other CONSOLE platforms, I just said platforms, cause I already knew they are thinking about making games for cell phones and stuff

I heard a crazy rumor on Daily Radar\'s Sega forum that the DC2 is code named the "Pheonix" (Which if you remember is what I\'ve been saying Sega should call their next console), and won\'t even use polygons, but a new an more efficent rendering method which allows for lots of curved surfaces with little performance hit.

Now the GS Cube is purely a graphical workstation made up of over 64 PS2 working in tandem. It can spit out over a billion untextured polygons per second and can fully render a frame of animation (Including Ray-Tracing) in roughly 1/30th of a second (30fps) according to Square Pictures. It may represent what future Playstations are capable of, but that\'s not why Sony built it.

sounds a bit like nurbs rendering to me, now didn\'t that rally game, world rally championship or sumthin, for ps2 use that same technique?
either way, I\'m sure the dc2 will kick ass when it\'s released, but it\'ll be a long time before we can get deeper into this subject

You probably won\'t hear an official DC2 annoucement until around summer 2003 (late 2002 at the very earliest).You probably won\'t hear anything official about the PS3 untill around spring 2005 (fall 2004 at the earliest).Those are my predictions.

nyways, I am surprised that DailyRadar heard about that, unless they heard it from me or someone else from Blast City. It is actually not the codename of the new system, a guy who works for Sega who is a frequent poster at BlastCity (in it\'s HeyDay!, it better get back up soon!) and he has heard what they want to put in it. His codename for it is Phoenix.

So it isn\'t really a rumor (I have been saying these same things about this for weeks ) But we don\'t know what they will do next, and when they will do it.

In other news: Virtua Fighter X, the first fighter for the new NAOMI2 board, will be shown for the first time on the 23rd at the AOU show! Can\'t wait!!!!
