...Multiplayer games.  Mario Party 1-3, Mario Kart, Mario Tennis, Mario Golf, Super Smash Brothers, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, WWF No Mercy...
It seems as if the people [casual gamers] that we consider to know absolutely nothing are the ones that actually know the most important thing: Name brands don\'t make the console, games do.

Yep. 4 controller ports. I can\'t be bothered buying a multi-tap.. I just use my...err..Wait..I\'ve never used more then 2 of my N64\'s controller ports.
DAMNIT! :(

But, yeah it does beat the PS when it comes to multiplayer.

It\'s sad to see you ppl lying to yourselves....
With the Playstation\'s line-up of around 1000 titles(!!!)
I\'m sure you\'d find more top-notch multi player games then the undoubtedly small amount of games you mentioned....
By the way, if one really wants multi-player games then nothing but cash should stop him from buying a multi tap...
I don\'t think Sony put 2 ports on the PS2 cuz they somehow didn\'t notice that other platforms had more ports...it\'s cuz they have a very good product on the market that solves this "inconvenience"...
Oh, is there an accesory similar to the multi tap for N64???
Oh....cuz if there isn\'t.....who offers the better multiplayer solution if not Playstation with 2 multitaps plugged in and 8 pads????

You forget one thing. Any company can crank out 1,000 plus titles from developers, if they turn off QUALITY CONTROL!

(points to the Bargin Bin ready $10 dollar games flooding the market)

Ya, the N64 realy does kick the PSX\'s ass for mutiplayer, even with a mutlitap its still not nearly as good because the games don\'t take advantage. The fat is that an addone like the multi tap just doesn\'t get used by developers because they don\'t think enough people will use it to make it worth while, which means games don\'t get made for it so people don\'t bother getting it. With the N64 and four controler ports developer figure, what the hell, the ports are their lets throw in a four player mode and hope it sell a few more units, and after Goldeneye was released it realy made developers notice how popular multiplayer can be. I\'m realy disapointed in the PS2 not having four controler ports, I can understand the PSX not having four but for the negligable cost it woud have taken to put them in the PS2 they would have had a lot of gain. The same probablem is going to plague the PS2 that the PSX, developers don\'t like to support addons, so the multitap thing will never be as popular as the normal multiplayer on other consoles. Sony realy threw away the multiplayer market with that one stupid move. Its not fatal or anything, but it is dumb.

That\'s very true, I gotta agree. How I have played Mario Kart 64 multiplayer... How I\'ve beated my pals in Goldeneye for millions of times!

But Playstation truly had its moments too; Crash Bash, NHL -hockey games, Crash Bandicoot Racing etc. Not many and not so good but worth a mention.

Playstation 2 already has few really good multiplayer titles. Timesplitters for example. TTT is kinda good and so is NHL2001 :)

-still I\'d like to see four controller ports. Takes really much money to buy a multitap plus two extra controllers-
