Microsoft racist against blacks and minorities.....

If this is true, I\'m not supproting the X-Box because I\'m black and I feel affended by this. Thank god I have a PS2, so long X-Box, any black who support this system or any other miniorties should be affended, this is so wrong.

Microsoft Ex-Employees File $5 Billion Racism Suit

Complaint alleges Microsoft\'s African-American employees faced "plantation mentality" at workplace.

Microsoft was hit with one of the largest discrimination suits in US history on Wednesday as seven African Americans alleged racism and a "plantation mentality" at their workplace.


The plaintiffs, both current and former employees in the company\'s Washington, DC and Redmond, Washington offices, alleged in their $5 billion suit that they were paid less than their fellow employees, repeatedly passed over for promotions given to less-qualified white workers, and subjected to harassment and retaliation when they complained. They are seeking class-action status for the case.


"They [Microsoft] have a plantation mentality when it comes to treating African American workers," said Willie Gary, the Florida lawyer who is handling the case.


Gary pointed to 1999 government statistics that showed only 2.6 percent of Microsoft\'s 21,429 employees, and only 1.6 percent of the company\'s 5,155 managers, were black.


Microsoft, the world\'s largest software company, did not immediately return calls seeking comment. A spokeswoman told Reuters on Tuesday that 22.2 percent of its employees as of October 2000 were minorities.


The case is scheduled to be heard in US District Court in Washington by Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson, who ordered Microsoft to be split into two parts last spring after finding the company violated antitrust law. That decision is currently being appealed.

I am not black and don\'t even know many black people but i think that this is distgusting!  I think that the x-box was gonna do **** anyway because the PS2 is much better! but now it will do even worse! PLUS THE X-BOX IS AS UGLY AS SIN!

All offense intended, but if you are not going to buy the Xbox because "Microsoft are racist" then you\'re an idiot, along with Jesse Jackson and all of his dumbass friends (and everybody in this goddamn nation) that make every goddamn issue today an issue of race. It\'s absurd.....do you think Sony is not "racist" too, as is Sega and Nintendo and probably every company in the U.S. today? Racists are EVERYWHERE...only at Microsoft their behavior was made known to the public. Microsoft is NOT racist, only a couple there, perhaps. Saying Microsoft is "racist" is an idiocy. Or perhaps it\'s just one of those rumours suspected to have been started by Sony, like the one about Nintendo buying Sega (which hurt Sega financially on Wall Street).

True, and I shouldn\'t let that stop me, I feel stupid, but this is not hard to believe, since this is a white america.

Comepletely no offense to black people, I am a minority also (asian) but I think jesse jackson is trying to take over the U.S.  I mean I am defenitly not racist, I am asian in the us but that if you are being descriminated against by a majority group then go back to your home country.  I know I would not want to but the U.S. was founded by whites and is majority to whites.  Just like the other half of the world was founded by asians (and I just like to do this for fun, while your ancestors were in mud cottages eating raw meat and barbarically running and slaughtering we were sitting in wood and stone temples and castles on floors of mats and sipping tea.  And we invented paper all the way to DVDs so suck d--k)  Anyway sorry for saying that if i offended you I just do that because sometimes white people excluded me and oppress because of my race.

I\'m not racist but lets look at this logically.

It is IMPOSSIBLE to keep racist out of a company the size of MS. Every company is going to have racist people in it. Its just impossible to keep them out. There is to many people who are still very racist and MS is to large of a coperation to keep up with everyones racial "problems".

Its alittle dumb to boycott a product because an employee or few of MS was racist. I\'m sure it in no way speaks for everyone that works at MS or any other company that would be in question.

 Hopefully this whole mess will be handled.

It probably doesn\'t represent everyone at microsoft but the efforts have to come from the senior level management to solve this problem and create awareness for equal opportunity for all employees regardless of race. By simply turning a blind eye to things down at the lower level is IGNORANCE and ignorance is a crime itself.

To hell with MS anyway, I\'m sticking with SONY. :P

This is pathetic, like Kituka said, it is impossible to keep racism out of a gigantic company like Microsoft. Anyone that says Bill Gates is racist is a fool too. He donates Billions of dollars and has donated much of it for AIDS prevention in Africa and going to the slums of America. Having 22.2% of their work force being minority proves it right there, America is 70% white. So that is about right. There is only like 2% blacks in Nebraska, so if a large company (Con-Agra or Union Pacific for example) had only 2% black workers, would they be discriminating? NO!

The way I see it, this is just another way a couple of lazy guys who are "mystified" as to why they have not gotten pay raises because they don\'t work as hard, now they are trying to take advantage of Microsoft because of it\'s size. Give me a break. Anyone who thinks MS is a bad company because of this is pure retard.

And the news can be a rumor; there\'s a big possibility. Sueing Bill Gates just to get money, for example.

There\'s many possibilities; but if this happens to be true, then the judgement is deserved.

I loathe Microsoft after today because I\'ve been to so many forums and chats and so many ppl have said thing about them that make she think \'screw it\' so although I would get a Gamecube above all other consles, and don\'t mind DC or PS2, MS must die.
