Biohazard,

Please try switching discs and then hitting the reset button.  Let me know if the new disc loads properly.  My PS2 seems to lock up when I do this, and only a cold boot seems to work when I want to change games.

well when im done playing a game with the ps2, I hold the reset button down and put it on standby. When I want to switch games , I hit the eject button which takes the ps2 off of standby, take out the game, pop in the new one and it works without a hitch.
Oro?!?

Zenith,

That\'s exactly what happens to me, and quite often too. I\'m wondering if the reset button is malfunctioning to the extent that some data from the previous disc doesn\'t clear and fouls up the new load.

After I\'m done I put in stand-by until I go to bed. I never leave the power on for more than a day.

Later,

2. i open the disk tray
3.i take the game out
4.i make the tray go back in
5. i shut it off
the only thing i want to know is if i\'m turing my psx2 off right. see i only play it once a day and the book that came with it said that to turn it off if your not planing to play if for a while. pluss some body on this bord said that thats what tore his psx2 up because he left it on standby mode all the time. AM I TURNING MY PSX2 OFF THE RIGHT WAY

I am affraid not my friend :( I heard that it screws up your PS2 (after a while, like years) if you just plain out shut it off...so I have been scared ever since...so i take out the game, push the tray in, and hit reset for it to go into standby, I then shut it off in the back...does this answer your "Q"?? Hope so.
