green screen

ive connected my ps2 via a rgb scart lead and the screen goes green ive read in opsm3 that the screen will turn green with dvd(something to do with piracy)it says it should be pervect with games can anyone shed any light?

you cant use an RGB plug with DVD. only the games, i read this in the ops2 magasine.

Umm... Phoenix, that\'s exactly what he said, you\'re repeating it in a different way . Yeah, I\'ve heard somewhere on the net that watching DVD with RGB scart is useless. Have tried it using the supplied RCA cable? One guy once in this forum mentioned that he was able to copy the whole gladiator movie to a VHS without a glitch.
I wonder if the US PS2 can play DVD if a scart is used, Cuz I\'m in UK and have a US PS2.

If you have a TV with 2 SCART slots, try connecting your PS2 to the secondary slot.This works for me.The image will not be a RGB signal,but you`ll have the original colours.
This may not work for all TVs , but it`s worth a try.

I think mike ment Greenscreen in DVD AND GAMES! Theres no doubt about it, that shouldn\'t happened.

HOWEVER in the options of the PS2 theres an option to choose Composite and RGB, if you select Composite whilst using an RGB cable then the screen will go green. So check that its set to RGB first.

Otherwise unfortunatly it is probly a duff PS2 because you would of thought that maybe sonys feature which turns the RGB Green screen on when detecting RGB cable is turning it on all the time rather than just for DVDs.

As for the Ps2 in second scart socket theres no point really, you loose the gain of RGB as mentioned so its just as easy to use the original cables supplied with the PS2.
