Playstation laser fix help?

A little off topic here but I need help and know that someone here can help and knows how to do this, I don\'t want any companies replying about this laser kit fix or this kit, I mean I can buy another PSX for the price of some of these things, and I already have a PS2 anyway to play my old games on, I just want to see if I can get this old PSX running. The laser slides look OK not really any wear and the laser will move up and down when the door switch is activated. The CD won\'t turn now though, my question is which of the three potentiometers do what and what does the vlotage settings need to be and where exactly do I check that voltage? Thanks if anyone can help.

I got news for you. The center motor on your PSX is fried. (Did you used to stop it with fingers? BIG NO-NO!) The potentiometers really won\'t help you on this. I know, \'cause my own PSX died on me about a month ago. It seems Sony didn\'t have a real good quality motor in it. And yes, I mourn the loss of my original PSX too. It lasted for almost 4 years. (*SNIFF!* I\'m gonna miss ya lil\' buddy..) Since you already have a PS2, you have 3 choices:

1. Just play them on your PS2.
2. Pay an exorbatant price and have your PSX repaired (around $150-$200)
3. Buy a PSOne.

I did #3, and I\'m fairly satisfied with it. It\'s a lot smaller and more rugged then the original PSX. And it only will only set you back 99 smackers.. not a bad deal! The only drawback to it is it doesn\'t have the Parallel I/O port. So if you had any devices that used it, your out of luck.

Thanx regent weber I used to do that until I read your post............I wonder if my psx is ok.....
