On Metal Gear Solid why does this happen when i fight Psycho Mantis?

I start fighting Psycho Mantis and it makes a funny noise and the screen goes black.
Then the word HIDEO comes up on the screen in a green colour?
After a few seconds it comes back on but has anyone else experienced this?

As a joke the guys making mgs, one has a name that starts with an H. Normaly you would see a the word (video) but they changed it to hideo. hehe people think somethings wrong because the screen goes black, thats funny.

to there are ways to give the illusion of AA,without having to take cuts in performance,and some developers are are taking advantage of themhowever ,until SOny comes up with a specific and easy ways to implement true AA that dosent take major hits on performance,you probably wont be seeing a huge number of games take advantage of it.

the reason it says hideo is because for one , the creator of mgs is named Hideo Kojima, and #2, because pyscho mantis is trying to read your mind, when that Hideo screen comes up, unplug ur controller from the first port, and plug it into the second port. This will render Psycho Mantis powerless.

It also is supposed to sybolise psycho mantis\'s ability to control you(r) controller.

As soon as you see the word Hideo, switch over to your Player #2 controller so psycho dude can\'t **** with you

Do u guys know the plot of msg2 it\'s same as the other 5 or so save world from rex and nukes... bleh it\'s still cool :)
