Just how stupid can Sony be? Well let me tell you

After having my PS2 for over 2 weeks, the Michigan boys(Sony techs) sent it back to me.  Only problem is, now the CD-ROM is stuck and will not open.  Apparently instead of going to Michigan it went to Clyde, MM\'s monkey.

It\'s possible someone was tossing it about in the mail truck and caused the CD tray to jam. Those trays are super delicate.

There are a lot of stoopid people in this world, escp. techs.  A lot of them lie about their abilities before they get the job.

So sometimes you have good luck sometime you don\'t.  If I can\'t fix it then I get a new one.  I would even tell sony that if mine breaks..  Forget that mess.  Sorry about that dood..

Yes now I have to send it back again.  It would be too easy for them to tell me how to pop the case and re-align the drive myself.

They\'re sending me an airbill.  From there my PS2 will be dropped, without parachute, in the front yard of the Michigan repair center.  Then someone yank on the CD tray until it will move freely in and out wihtout having to push any buttons.  After that someone will put a fresh coat of black Krylon on it to cover up the scratches and dirt.  Then they will write P S 2 on it with a bright blue crayon.

After that they will toss it in the back of a potato truck and tell them to "drop this off somewhere around Arkansas".

Does anybody on this forum know someone who works for Sony.  I would like their names and addresses so I can kick their ass.  Nothing personal.

But always remember, no matter what happens you\'ll get your PS2 ( hey, sue them to get extra cash to buy games! ), and life will go on nonetheless.

yeah thanks i know.  The worst part is, I really want my PS2 to work otherwise I\'d be asking for a refund.  They\'ve already sent me one free game and offered for another but I refused.  All I want is my PS2 to work right, I don\'t want Sony to give me more stuff.  Hey, besides what would I play it on anyway

Ok..here\'s my story about sending my Playstation 2 off for repairs...be warned after reading this you might not want to send it in for repairs.

I bought my Playstation 2 on November 11th from Toys R Us. It worked fine until November 25th. So i called Sony and told them about the problem. They will tell you to try different cords and different tv\'s which i did and the problem still occured. the problem was it wouldn\'t play psx games properly on my ps2. I told them they worked fine on my PSX. So they told me to send it in to Bristol PA for repairs...they said within 15-20 business days i should receive my unit back and working properly. So on 11/27/00 I sent it overnight delivery to there service center..it took them 10 business days just to assign it to a technican and 5 business days for him to deal with the problem and 3 business days to receive my unit back. When i got it back I hurried and hooked it up to see if they fixed it! Did they??? NO!!! They didn\'t fix anything. So i took a look at my Invoice that came with my unit and it said "Constant Mech Breakage Mechanical Adjustment". Did they fix something that i didn\'t know about. So i called Sony and told them i was pissed off about it and they offered me a free psx game. I already had 1 psx games offered to me for paying $30.00 to ship it off. i didn\'t care about the game i wanted a working unit ASAP. So they sent me a airbill 2 business days later and i sent it off to them on 1/12/01. I called them everyday and they told me i would receive it within 7 business days. So i waited 7 business days and haven\'t received it yet. So i eventually received my new unit on 1/30/01. That was about 18 days after sending it off. I have yet to receieve the 2 free PSX games that they promised me. And i plan on calling them next week and complaining to get them NOW!!...Oh yea if you plan on sending it off you\'re gonna need to fill out alot of papers and you should keep them on file and get copies made. What you will need is a proof of purchase (receipt,copy of check...etc) and you will need to write out a long list of what the problems is,what your sending in,adress,module #,serial # etc... After receiving my unit back the first time i called them back and i had to send them copies of everything from all the first letters,receipt,proof of shipping it to bristol and awhole lot of other crap. Next time I buy a system i will get a warranty from the store and never sent it off to Sony again.

I\'m sorry for this post, but I just have to post something, back online baby, old news for you guys probably but i just discovered this, i\'m so happy, think i\'m gonna cry.

anyways, i\'m sorry for jer ps2 ****in up, I had mine from launch and I had no problems at all with it.













god yes, the only thing that\'s missing now is a high res movie of gt3 in the rain, that\'ll probably available the next few days (at least i hope so),

I had the same sort of problem. mine took a MONTH to get back!!!!!!
Mine would not work at all, they finally sent me a brand new unit.
They could have done that on day 1!!!!
This has been the WORST experience by far with getting anything repaired. And when I get it im  treated to games like NHL 2001 (EA) who\'s slowdown durring the game makes me want to smash my unit into the wall (FIFA soccer also) just to name a few.
The ONLY reason this unit is still sitting in my living room is because of Madden 2001. The rest of the games are CRAP for the most part.
Im so full of anger about sony that i am DITCHING it as soon as X-Box comes out.
