Are the Monster cables worth the extra money?

I mean the damn Component ones cost $50 while the SONY ones only cost $25 i believe.  Is it worth the extra money to buy the monsters?

very much so, think it is a great investment to get, i will give you a better picture, are tougher and are better than sony cables straight out, every hardcore ps2 gamer should get them, i got them, but mine are s-video cords, it will sound better aso, just remember that the graphics will only look better they will not get amazingly better, but better none the less, it will be more rich in color, sound better and be sharper guaranteed, i had sony s video cable and switched to monster and it looks better flat out you will be able to tell the difference, buy them and if you dislike them just return them its that easy.

I have monster cables and I think they are great!  They are worth the money if you have the money to get them.  They are made of higher quality material which means they will last longer and be able to take more abuse.

I bought the monster cables(S-Video), and I see a vast improvement.  I have the same TV upstairs and downstairs, only the one upstairs is bigger and is high definition. (WEGA)  It looks great on both TV\'s, however the upsatiars has the ability for component cables, how is S-video compared to Component?

Standard component cables from Sony are no different than Monster cables.  You may get 1% increase in performance.  Ddaryl is absolutely correct.  Any difference is purely placebo.  You will probably notice a difference from Composite to S-Video and S-video to Component, but you will not notice a difference between monster and standard.

Just don\'t have your cables running parallel to power cables.  That\'s where you get problems where the better quality will come into place.

Take the 25 bucks and buy a freaking game.

And as far as durability goes.  How much do you do with the freaking wires?  You push them in and forget about them...

I have a high definition front projection unit and I am only using S-Video.  I don\'t have those component inputs on my projector though.  Just a standard composite, S-Video, and VGA.  BRING ME VGA SONY!!!

You see a vast improvement over standard Composite cables or Sony Svideo cables?  There is no doubt that they are better than the composite cables, but you won\'t see a difference between the different brands of s-vids...
