Thanks to VGS(videogamespot) for the info...

PCCW acquires the Colorado-based first-party Xbox developer.

The Japanese unit of PCCW has announced the acquisition of VR-1 Entertainment, the games division of US-based Circadence Corp. The deal is primarily aimed at creating networked multiplayer games for both the Asian and North American markets, which is VR-1 Entertainment\'s development specialty. VR-1 is known for its work on Microsoft Fighter Ace, the massively multiplayer online flight simulation.
"The acquisition of VR-1 will provide PCCW Japan with technology that will significantly enhance the Jaleco gaming business we acquired in August last year and position us to become a leading global player in network gaming," said Todd Bonner, president and CEO of PCCW Japan. "We have exclusive rights to the entertainment applications of this technology and plan to leverage it as far as possible both within PCCW Japan and the broader PCCW group."

VR-1 Entertainment is a first-party developer for the Microsoft Xbox console. Additionally, it is a middleware tools partner with Sony for its PlayStation 2 platform.

I\'m looking foward to this, It worked with Microsoft so they know what they are up against!
\"In the last 12 months 100,000 private sector jobs have been lost and yet you\'ve created 30,000 public sector jobs. Prime Minister, you cannot carry on forever squeezing the productive bit of the economy in order to fund an unprecidented engorgement of the unproductive bit. You cannot spend your way out of recession or borrow your way out of debt.\" - Daniel Hannan
