Ok I have made a lot of vcd\'s & given them to friends with DVD players, quite a lot of dvd players can play vcd\'s. Your problem is that not all the ones that can play vcd\'s can play CDR, for instance 3 of my friends could not play them one had a Samsung (I think), one had A pioneer and the other a Sony that\'s just an example that\'s not to say all Sony\'s don\'t play CDR\'s far from it most do my other friend has a Sony plays them all flawlessly. What I have found is even if the DVD player didn\'t play cdr\'s, when I burnt them on to a particular brand CDR (they have a weird green-grey bottom like CDRW) they played (this did not work on the above mention Samsung but did work on the above mentioned Sony).
As for the PS2 playing VCd\'s no, not out the box & third party may make an add on or something that will play them. It is possible.
O.T.] I have a friend who does magic he has one trick in particular that\'s amazing he asks you for a regular coin dollar or 10 pence in size & spins it between his to index fingers he quickly takes his hands away, & the coin then floats in mid air he passes his hand all round the coin to show there\'s no wires. I don\'t know how he does it but its got to be seen to be believed. I have put this trick on vcd & can give it out to people if anyone wants it send me a blank cdr & I\'ll put it on there.
