"Audio technology company Sensaura has announced that it\'s providing middleware tools to PlayStation 2 developers. The utility, Sensaura 3-D Positional Audio, is available for developers who want to add elaborate sound effects to their game products, including the ability to “place” sounds around the player through Sensaura’s advanced audio algorithms.
The process—while already available to computer-game developers for some time—builds up the realism of a game product, through the enlarged “soundscape” that the technology creates. Rather than being limited to sounds “in front” of the player, 3-D positional audio enables the developer to make it appear that a sound is coming from the side or above a player in a more realistic manner.
United Kingdom-based Sensaura stated that the software will also provide other special effects, such as EnvironmentFX for 3-D reverb, ZoomFX and MacroFX. The bundle will be distributed by Criterion Software."

i think thats pretty cool, we will get some kick ars sounds effects to go with out kick ars games! what do you think?
