Store incident(Funcoland and other trade in games store suck)

Well i went to funcoland to trade in my games well i wasent really gonna trade them in  because the ppl that  work at funcoland are really strick. The guy that works there he is only like 16, well all those funcoland guys are ****s, but he acts like he owns the store. They all do.  They look over your game with a magnifying glass to see if there is one scratch on it so I was not going to trade my games in but I was there. So somebody walks in with a game the guy had to be like 16. He had timesplitters on ps2. It was scratched up he had bought it used. And wanted to bring it back. Well the young punk would not take the game back. Told him he bought the game used and that is the price you pay and told him he scratched it up well the guy got pissed off and threw the time splitters in the guys face and left there I was gonna pick it up when the guy next to me swooped on it. Well I did not want the game that bad it is ok. But these game places piss me off I went to one and they say if u don\'t have the book with it we will only give you 5 dollars no matter what shape it is in. Then others one little be snip of scratch on a game and we cannot take it. I was thinking of getting a job at one and taking all types of games scratched torn just to screw this stores. When I use to own a 64 I once had to burn a n64 game in the microwave just too take it back to the store and exchange it. They would not take it back perfect so I burned it in the micro(note bleaching nintendo games does not break them, pouring hot sauce in the does not break them either. I cannot stand these stores makes me not even want to buy video games.

 I went there Friday, and reserved a copy of Onimusha (we just got a Funcoland, sooo)...I thought for fun, I\'d ask and see how much they would pay me for my 3DO, 12 controllers and 90 + games. The guy, laughed at me. I don\'t mean giggled, he started dying laughing telling me he couldn\'t give that away.... Then some kid behind me started laughing and asked if I really had a 3DO with 90 games. I said yes, and he laughed at me more! By this time, I was feeling severely embarrassed. I mean, it took alot to admit that I owned one, but it was even worse when I was being laughed at by two people. So, I started to walk away and the clerk said, "We also won\'t buy 32X/Sega CD/ Saturn products, as we have more a chance of selling original NES games, then we do Sega products other then the Genesis."

Those stores suck so hardcore, but there isn\'t anything else, at least not here. We just now got a Funcoland, and before that I would have to order off http://www.Ebay.com .

I only trade in to Babbage\'s which is now Software, Etc.

After I beat Final Fantasy 7 and traded it in a year later they gave me like $30 for it.

well i just bought the bouncer 2 days ago, but i was short on money " and i just wanted to get it cause i couldnt find it anywhere" so i decided to return it today, when i went, i said yes i want to return this game, i handed him the game, and the receipt, they looke at the disk, and said... we cant take this back, it has scratches... WTF  was this guy smoking, some punk ass mofo that thinks hes all tha, now i may sound ice here on these forums but in reallity im a mean ass mofo, i put it on my skin, so i was like wtf did you say, i had no scratches what so ever on that disk, i swear, and he refused, its thier policy to take back games, i woulda sued them, so i snatched the game from his hand, told him to f^ck off, and i will never come back here again, as i turned around he said wait, and asked for the game, i tossed it at him, and he looked at it again, he said.. oh its ok now it doesnt have any.. i wanted to shoot him there and then, he gave me my refund and apologized, i told him to f^ck off again .

How old are those idiots?  Probably weren\'t even alive when those products were out.  They\'ve probably never even seen one.  It\'s those same bastards 10 years ago who were taking pre-orders for em and pissin their pants about talking about how this "next system" would wipe up whatever "system" is out now, so tell em to suck your c0ck.

well, that isnt very nice, i wear my name on my shirt only cause i work at super k.. for experience, good people skills equal good jobs in he future, a grip of peeps wear names on thier shirt where they work, people at bank of america, people in the fbi, police officers, etc. not cause thier dumb but cause they have to, i mandatory, i know what you mean, all the d!ck heads who think there all that and know absolutly nothing.

I know man these stores really piss you off. And L-I-C they had the nerve to laugh at I don\'t know what I would have done if I was there. I goto stop and Save sometimes but they only give u 5bucks for each game if ther is no book no matter what game it is. I don\'t even trade in games no more because I feel I would hurt one these store guys. They are such pricks that think there are in the video game industry just becasue they sit behind and counter and hand someone a game. I am getting angry right now talking about those pricks they really piss me off. They act as if this is there store they will sell you a used game that may have a shallow of scratch on it, but try and bring it back and they are all over it. And they send those game through a buffer anyways. So does it even matter? Well I have not got a decent price for any games I have traded in.  This was like 96 I believe PSX had only been out a year and it was 199.99 and n64 had just come out and I wanted it too but I did not have the money. So I said I will trade in my psx and get a n64 then buy me a used psx. Well something happen and I took my psx back to the orignial store and got a brand new one. So I take it into funco brand new with box never been open retailed at 199.99 plus tax. They only wanted to give me 120$ for a brand new psx that had never been opened which they where gonna sell for 199.99. I tell you this places suck after that I should have never went back to that store. Or any store. I to to EB they use to scam you too I did not like my n64 when I had one I only had 2 games on it. A racing game and 007 so went to EB to get a game a used game this was like 97 I wanted KI gold used they wanted to sell it too me for 69.99 used box all tore and the guy tells me ther is no refund. I have not went back to EB and bought anything sense.

Ok I got one more story I took summoner  back to toy r us, because It had gotten scratched up.  As soon as I walk up and shows the girl the game she looks at it and says how did this happen. I am thinking that is none of you f**king business how it happen. All your job is too is take the game. So I told her how it happen and she gets on the phone and starts going in the back. At this point I am like what is going on. She comes and tells me this game should not be scratched like this. I mean she had the nerve I should have fliped her off but I did not. I said it happen and how I don\'t all I do is play it. So she leaves and goes back where ever she was and comes back with a game and is about to hand it too me. Then she grabs back and says hold up and takes her key and starts scratching the plastic off with her key I am looking and says can u not scratch the case I will take the damn plastic off. I mean it is things like this that make video game returning a nightmare.

Only chance here to return a game is to buy the game from a small retailer; large market-chains won\'t give you even a chance. I know few very nice clerks here, but that\'s only because they OWN the shop themselves, and they\'re open for changes and they\'re very fair and give lower prices, and don\'t mind a missing of few pennies.

But it\'s different story in, for example, Anttila. It\'s a finnish market-chain, and in Anttila there\'s anything from Food to Games.

Well, there\'s this policy that you CAN\'T return your games if they\'re opened. No matter what. If there\'s even the slightest scratch, the game isn\'t even looked again and returned, without asking for explanations. If, however, there\'s no scratch, and a possible very rare malfunction, they take it back and let you change the game to a new one. BUT it\'s a hard fight!

If the plastic is opened and you return it with a shabby excuse, they won\'t change it. Well, let me give you an example.

I bought The World is not Enough, DVD -collector\'s edition from Anttila. The very first thing that annoys me in Anttila, is the plastic price-tags wich you can\'t take off! They\'re SO BIG and so ANNOYING and SO UGLY. Well, anyways, I took it home and started to watch it in my playstation 2. Well, after a while I just got black screen and disc-error. I tried again. Same thing. I thought "WTF?". Without thinking more ( as I was p1ssed ), I went to return the game to Anttila.

The Clerk there then asked that what is the problem. I said it doesn\'t work. Then the clerk asked about my dvd-player. What company it is and what model.
I just said:
"It\'s sony playstation 2".
Then the man muttered for a second and said:
"Um. I\'ll test the disc. Did this problem occur in the beginning of the movie?"
I said yes. And the clerk tested. There was no error in it. "maybe it\'s only my playstation 2, man" I said.
Then the Clerk called someone to ask about the change.
"Sorry. I can\'t change this because you\'ve opened the plastic cover and it works properly blah blah blah..."
Then I replied:
"But It DOESN\'T WORK in our Playstation 2!"
Clerk:
"You should contact Sony if it displays same kind of problems with other dvd\'s blah blah blah"
Then I went away P1SSED off...

And I\'ve tried to avoid shopping in Anttila from that day on...
