spoiler-alert within this post!!! Be aware if you have not yet played the MGS2 demo...I am giving a confrontation away...if you do not wish to know anymore, read no further!!!Okay, subject title was simply for eye-grab! But really now, I\'ve killed Olga [how many times now???
] once again and playing this demo just brings home how much I enjoyed MGS for PSX.
Now granted, I recognize there have been many incarnations of MGS over the years, but I only jumped onto the one for the PSX. I remember well, playing that particular game. As I\'ve alluded to in the past, part of my career involves computer systems training on the road. Without fail, I\'ve always brought my Playstation (and now my PS2) on the road with me to wile away the evening hours in a motel room [and dollar for dollar, it truely beats the heck outta strip-joints IMHO!].
So it was a few years ago that I was down south in Georgia and had purchased MGS on the road. Each evening (after training) coming back to that game...loading the saved data & picking up where I\'d left off before...well, it was honestly the best gaming experience of my life. So vivid was the story line... So enthralling the characters... The effort to balance stealth with cunning and (when necessary) brute force... It was simply a joy to play. Plain and simple.
So why do I bore you folks with this? Well, this MGS2 demo. OMG! It brings "in spades" what the original PSX MGS managed to do occasionally. What\'s that? Get me involved with the characters, of course! Nowhere did the PSX MGS do that better, IMO, than with Sniper Wolfe. The entire experience with her simply captured my imagination to its fullest. I mean, I was *THERE* in the cold, as Solid Snake, I had that woman in my arms [hold your sarcasm, its not necessary
] as she told me her story and breathed her final breath. That moment in time will never be removed from my memory...
And now comes MGS2. Face it, DLing pics of screen shots never does a game justice. You played this demo? Then you know where I\'m coming from. These characters are simply fascinating. I am ashamed that I had to kill Olga...but she provoked me. One of us were going to die; and I\'m not in the habit of liking to die. But wait, will her father discover this grieveous act I have committed? Surely that hover-cam will have alerted him! He would have seen me standing over the lifeless body of his daughter [and granddaughter]. What retribution will he try to lay down on me?...
MGS2...face it, it will be a game to be remembered...
