Yes, ATV is an awesome game and you really need to know the tracks inside and out to win. The CPU riders do mess up however, and I don\'t think it\'s as bad as many people make out. I love the strategy behind navigating the \'rhythm\' sections of the courses.

Unfortunately, familiarity with the tracks comes at a cost, that is of course getting schooled several times by the AI. I found that adjusting the suspension and spring levels so that they were less responsive gave me that extra edge. I tended to favour acceleration on the tacks that did not have long stretches, and preferred speed with those that did. Rhythm and timing are crucial when attacking the bumps, but again that comes with familiarity. After you complete a Procareer, you are awarded with the coveted ATV 1000 model, and let me tell you it is well worth it; this allows you to breeze through another career effortlessly. And if you do feel inclined to complete it a second time, you are awarded with a code to increase the AI.  One last thing, try if you can to place first in ALL of the early races; it guarantees you a win in the last few races regardless of your final position . Good luck.

Gotta learn to jump perfectly.

Just wait until you complete pro mode and get the maxed out stat bike (I forget the name). Then you will totally blow them away:)
