Bitboys....2001
« on: April 14, 2001, 01:12:54 AM »
Before any of you come in and type "vaporware"...keep in mind these guys made the pyramid3d 4 years ago and it DESTROYED anything available at the time(hardware T&L...per-pixel/vertex shading/programmable...)

the XBA is REAL....wait a little longer...this thing will have REAL 2.4gigatexel fill-rate with 40gb/sec of internal bandwidth with around 60mb of EDRAM,8pixel-pipeline engine,o.17 micron process,30million or so transistors for logic alone, efficent hardware T&L/full DX8 support...and all it needs is a price lower than geforce3 and bitboys is here to stay:D

any thoughts on bitboys tech-heads?

Heh heh Bitboys are about as reliable as Xtreme with their 1,2Ghz dual G4.
It\'s kinda strange that the second you start to devote your self to a platform (this case the PeeCee) you become an expert on it.

Aren\'t those the guys SomethingAwful has done several fake news articles bashing?

This one, for example.

Quote
"As you can see by this first chart, our Glaze Superion Infiniterion Pro Quad Delta Mark VII is more powerful than Jesus Christ. It is capable of performing more than 50 billion calculations per nanosecond, most of which involve some kind of really hard arithmetic like long division. WITH a remainder." Mr. Long then showed off a diagram which compared their upcoming video cards to all major political leaders, both alive and dead. Their card won every time.

expert?...no no..i just know more than you;)

infenion(sp?) has a large share in them and they will make the chip....this company does not support vaporware.

I think we should expect something around 2nd/quarter(announcement)...then around late 3rd/4th quarter a card will come out..

Just look at what the pyramid3d(bitboy\'s made) had 4 years ago...that is proof enough for me to know the XBA will rock.

Infenion is having trouble in a legal debate with Rambus (which isn\'t making any friends btw) but they use bullying tactics against others and seem to be forcing Infenion into an agreement.
Now Infenion is a subsituary or Siemens, and since making mem chips isn\'t as high on their priority list as making other electronics,I don\'t think they would want to get dirty by going head first into this legal debate.
Now I may be wrong about all of this, but it doesn\'t look like this Glaze3d card is going to see the light of day.
But when anc if they get this card out I\'ll be happy,nVidia makes good products but they seem to be getting to confy up there in the top.

oh and no-one....i agree with you on the nvidia..not only that but their set-up is just getting out-dated and obsolete as well as hitting a brick wall...they will have to either shut up and use gigapixel tech or Edram or run the risk of getting smoked in the next 1.5 year....

nVidia makes good products. But their PR team is a bunch of snooty bastards.
I only hope that ATi can get their stuff together and make some good Win2k drivers for their RadeonSE.
