I have said for a long time that I could exsept a Final Fantasy Game on another system, even though I thought it improbbable. I did however say that the only game that I ever expect to ship to other consoles would be Final Fantasy XI and yet I still did not believe it would ship. Another prediction in a flawless record.
Already anticipating Final Fantasy XI? Then you\'d better be glad you
picked up a PS2. Xbox and Cube fans have been hoping for the contrary,
but it now seems that the PS2 will be the only console to receive this first
Online Final Fantasy game. In recent comments to Mainichi Shimbun in
Japan, Sakaguchi stated that, as it stands now, it would be impossible to
play Final Fantasy XI on anything other than Windows or the PS2. We
presume this means current plans call for an exclusive release of this game
on Windows platforms and the PS2. However, on the same article, former
Square president Tomoyuki Takechi (who was "restructured" into a
somewhat lesser role with the company this past February) commented
that he would like to see to it that any hardware that can go online can play
Final Fantasy in the future. These are vague statements indeed, so don\'t
rule out the possibility of a Final Fantasy XI release on other platforms.
But if you\'ve gotta pick a system now, and Final Fantasy XI is a must
have, you\'d probably be best off considering a PS2.

In yet another article Sqaure talks about the Final Fatasy movie and the Sequal. With a little play online thrown in as well.
