The three Japanese publishers announce a financial tie-up and hint at co-developed projects.

Japanese publishers Namco, SquareSoft, and Enix have announced a financial tie-up where each company will assume a 5 percent stake in the others. The three companies will additionally invest in joint projects. However, further specifics were not released. Executives from all three companies were on hand at the press conference. Keiji Honda of Enix, Hisashi Suzuki of SquareSoft, and Shirou Takagi of Namco attended the event in Japan. GameSpot will have further details as they become available

This is great news. These 3 companies working together means one thing. Huge big budgeted productions, and more then likely shared innovations.

There is a huge growing trend of Dev teams sharing resources and working together, This is great

Enix are best known for thier Dragon Quest RPG series. Dragon Quest 7 outsold Final Fantasy in Japan but for some stupid reason they dont come out here in Australasia. Im not sure about the states.
A schizophrenic patient will not allow anyone to touch them; not because they would do them some harm, but because they might electrocute them.

Enix hasnt brought them to America Either.
At least not part 7.
Im waiting though.
Is it just me, or is it kinda coincidental that this joint-venture is announced months after Namco says they are going to be producing a prequal to a SQUARE game.
Maybe joint ventures are already underway.
There are going to be some awesome RPG\'s coming out.
Hmm, another thought.
Now that they announced this.
Square can release games to other consoles through this venture probably and still stay exclusive to the PS2, while Namco can send some GC way.
Just a thought.

Enix also made a wonderful game called Star Ocean 2 if I remember correctly.
