Cambridge Soundworks DTT-3500 rewiew
« on: April 29, 2001, 08:51:26 AM »
I bought the DTT-3500 system a couple of days ago.
This system is very good. It has a true 5.1 channel sound, it does not support DTS, but has several cool features.
It can do 5.1,4.1 sound out of a 2.0 sound (CMSS), e.g the sound from a stero-vhs, this is different from Dolby surrond, its better makes the seperation way better.
It has dolby surround, a digital one, and a analog one, I dont use the digital, but the analog for TV, I could use the digital for MGS2 but I use the CMSS for MGS2, its better.
You can choose between using analog or optical for CD-sound or games.
It has a really cool feature that makes it possible to hear true DD 5.1 sound in The Bouncer (cut scences) and then turn over to digital surround sound or CMSS when you play.
It has several options for PC connections, I havent tried them out.
The sound is way better than I thought. I first listened to the system in the store, that sounded really cool, but a home it was freaking awsome.
I dont regreat that I sold my old DD- system, it was a overkill, I couldnĀ“t use it was to powerful, a
Sony STR-DA 50 ES with AE 120 speakers. I have money left and i got this amazing system.

The PS-2000 is the simpliest one, it has not true 5.1 sound, it has a simulation, then we have the DTT-2500, a better system then the 2000 but with no true 5.1 decoder, the DTT-3500 has a true DD decoder with 6 seperated amplifiers.

Here in sweden you get the system for 3995:- that is about 410 US $.

That is very cheap, must DD-amplifers costs that much.
I higly recommend every singel PS2 owner to get this one. Its the same design, the blue and red light and you can have it vertcal standing. I have it that way next to my PS2. what a beutiful couple.
You can even change the colur of the front.
