Project Y: first details and movies
CVG has gleaned the very first solid details on Naughty Dog’s next game, and from the sound of it there’s every reason to get excited
Project Y, Naughty Dog’s first next generation project, has finally been revealed. The Crash Bandicoot developer posted three versions of a teaser movie of the game on its website yesterday, and all the indications are hopeful. Especially after we spoke to someone who has actually seen the title in action.
"The main character’s human, and he teams with a sidekick which looks like a meercat," our source revealed. "They work together. When we were watching the game, at one point the guy slipped off a cliff and ended up hanging on by one hand. The meercat ran over his body then pulled him back onto firm land. The animation was frightening. Think along the lines of Zelda crossed with Banjo and you’re sort of there, but the gameplay will take a lot from Crash."
The title of the game has yet to be released, but expect a heavy focus from Sony on Project Y at E3. A first showing of the title is certain during the Sony press conference on Wednesday afternoon, so we’ll have plenty more for you then.
In the meantime, get over to Naughty Dog’s site and get a load of the teaser movies.
This game is sounding cool.
