RED FACTION (FULL) on German TV !!!

Well today was a great day... at a German TV Station called GIGA-TV (it´s a part of the German NBC program)
they´ve presented the FULL (German) Version of RED FACTION !!!

First let me explain: GIGA-TV is a "program" that deals with everything that has to do with electronic entertainment (Internet, Games, PC, LAN Partys and so on) The main "show" runs from 16.00 to 20.00 and then there is a games special (GIGA-GAMES) from 22.00 to 00.00... And in GIGA-GAMES today THQ presented RF !!! BTW: there are 4 parts in GIGA-GAMES, Consoles, Help, PC and Fun so they don´t show RF for 2h...

OK, and now for the Game: IT ROCKS !!!

AFAI can see on the TV, the game was fully AA with NO flickering !!! It also runs very (VERY) smooth and has NO noticeable slowdowns (they´ve shown some fighting and explosions) !!! The Geo-Mod engine is superb - it looks quite real ! The wall textures (and others) are very detailed and the underwather FX are great... the only bad point IMO is, that there is no MK support and no online part (only splitt screen) ! But you can fully configurate the Joypad and it has auto aim... so it looks like no problem to me, to play it without Mouse and Keyboard !

And the best part... IT WILL BE RELEASED IN JUNE !!!!!!

Although the German Ver. is fully translated (also the signs say ACHTUNG, GEFAHR instead of WARNING, DANGER), I´ll get th english Ver., because they´ve cut out the blood (again) and the screaming for the German Ver. (to satisfy the german youth law) !

All in all it was a very good presentation of THQs newest fps...

...and for me it´s a MUST HAVE !!!

heh no offense (given or taken),i thought Germany was really strict on showing violence (especially on tv)?? have things changed of late or is this "media violence in Germany is bad" thing just a rumor or what? i have the demo,so i know it will be fun and interesting with the full version,i\'m looking forward to getting it...

There are differences between violence and violence... If a movie is free for 16 yo than it can be shown from 22.00 on ! That´s why GIGA-GAMES starts at 22.00 !! They can show everything that´s OK for under 18 yo !

You won´t see movies that are for 18 yo (Headshoots, Porno, heavy violence and stuff) on our TV... or you will, but those scenes are cut out (badly) ! You can see blood or somebody shoot down as long as you don´t see the bullet tear off a body or parts of it...

So if a Game has such heavy scenes, it will be only avaiable to ppl from 18 years on... there is no advertising allowed for such games and it´s not allowed to show them "in public" (stores, magazines and so) that´s why THQ has "cut" the game (no heavy screaming only  "uh ohhh" and no blood) ! They wanted to reach everybody with the game, not just those who know it through the internet...

BTW: You can see light sex in our TV (nude girls and boys, love scenes, heavy talking) that´s nothing bad... you also can say Fu(k or $hit and stuff... it´s funny to see some US or Brit. Actors in TV shows asking: "blablabla and then I beat the $hit out off him... uh oh... am I allowed to say that ??!" hehehe

I will import the US version which I have already preordered (I can`t miss the gore )

Hey EYE, if you want the full violence ,you could get the Austrian/Swiss or UK versions.

I saw it. It was cool but "a little bit" slow. Besonders diese Fräse. 5 Frames per second?
