Still on the fence with Gamecube?

Here\'s a little something to digest...

When asked about GameCube at E3, Yuji Naka said "if you\'re a fan of Sonic Team, I recommend that you buy a GameCube."

Take that for what you will, but I\'m sure it\'s enough to sway a few die-hard Sega fans to support the GCN...

this\'ll be BIG news to fans of platformers, namely, myself. It looks as though Nintendo will not only have it\'s own awesome platform gaming franchises, but also the best from Sega, this is what we were all dreaming of as little kiddies, and it\'s here. This will be very interesting to see how it affects the PS2 and Xbox, if GCN can grab the majority of well known Sega support.
Probably the earliest flyswatters were nothing more than some sort of striking surface attached to the end of a long stick.

What I want to know is when Sega is actually going to try and develop a new fresh platformer

Same goes for Nintendo, ditch Mario.

SO far Maximo, Klonoa, and Jak and Daxter look like a fine offering and there\'s also a platfomer from Insomniac (Sony\'s 2nd party)  good platformers seem to be all around

add Spyro and Crash to all platfomrs

While very nice, I don\'t see this as a reason to buy GC. Naka is great, but he\'s no Suzuki.

Plus, everyone knows Sonic Team is on board with GC, so this doesn\'t extend that, it was known.

BTW, unless your poor or have no time for another system, why would you be on the fence about GC? Get one!

I\'ve never really had any interest in games like Sonic, Mario etc. They\'re just not my kind of games.

Ditch Mario?
Ditch Sonic?

Are you crazy? What about all us \'saps who still love these franchises. I grew up on ole\' Mario and he would be sorely missed if he was gone.
Same with Sonic--tho I didn\'t quite grow up on him.

My feelings about Nintendo are getting a bit more strong lately. Big credit goes to GBA. Think I\'m gonna get one.
And I\'ve been looking carefully at those Pikmin screens.
I really must say that NGC performs very very well graphically. I mean it\'s all there : high poly counts, crispy clear anti alias ,great textures, great transparancy fx and so on. If I have enough money in 2002 ( European release ) I might buy NGC. ( even though I still find the NGC casing hell ugly., the new controller looks cool though. )

This is pretty much the breakdown of Sega\'s developers so far, and which ones are making what games for what system (... does that make sense?). Don\'t forget that Dreamcast is getting the most support, and I\'m too lazy to list all the games. Enjoy:

Playstation 2
AM2 - Virtua Fighter 4
United Game Artists - Space Channel 5
Since AM2 is developing for PS2, this makes the next Shenmue game completely possible for this console.

Gamecube
Sonic Team - Phantasy Star Online Version 2
Amusement Vision - Super Monkey Ball, Virtua Striker 3
Sonic Adventure is pretty much confirmed, as well as a port of the action arcade-hit Space Harriers and the next Daytona USA title.

X-Box
Smilebit - Jet Grind Radio Future, Panzer Dragoon, GunValkyrie
Sega GT2 is also confirmed for release.

From what I\'ve heard, Visual Concepts/Sega Sports will be developing sports titles for all next-generation consoles, including PS2, GC, Dreamcast and XBox. This includes NFL2K2, NHL2K2 and NBA2K2.
August 26th, 2002.

Can I say who cares. I hope sega retires sonic on dc. I don\'t wanna see sonic on anyother platform.
