But its true, XBox is a 32-bit console.
You have to wonder wtf the XBox design crew were smoking when they decided to use a 32-bit processor. This is the 128-bit generation afterall.

That\'s the stupidest ****ing thing I ever heard... XB is 128 bit. I don\'t care if one processer in the system is 32 bit, one chip does not a console make. If XB was 32 bit, that\'s pretty sad that it\'s more powerful as a 32 bit system than the 128 bit PS2. Erm, but it doesn\'t matter, XB is 128 bit.

Whether you want to admit it or not, the Xbox is technically a 32 bit console. But bits don\'t matter anymore. GBA is 32 bit and it looks no where near as good as the PSX does, N64 is 64 bit and it doesn\'t look that much better than PSX, and the GameCube is also 64 bit but it looks just as good as any next generation console.  It doesn\'t mean **** that the Xbox is 32 bit because it\'s true power lies elsewhere.

Hey Altered, why no "best looking 16 bit game" topic? You kind of skip a generation...

So a consoles \'bits\' technically is decided by only one chip?? Maybe by you, but I look at the whole chipset. The chipset asa whole is 128 bit...

Resident Evil 2

Guardian Heroes

Panzer Dragoon Saga
July 2002: If you had bought $1000.00 worth of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00. Enron, $16.50 left. Worldcom, $5.00 left. If you had bought $1,000.00 worth of Budweiser beer one year ago, drank it all and turned in the cans for the 10 cent deposit, you would have $214.00. Based on the above, my current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.

wipE\'out" 2097. I don\'t know what is it about this game, but I think it still is the most impressive 32-bit game I\'ve played. There\'s something unique in the presentation and the overall feeling once you get into the game. Pretty colours, graphical and sound effects with real balls, insane speed, everything seemed to be right with this title. The backgrounds are also awesome, huge skyscrapers, jungles, floating track-complexes... It was just stunning at the time. And still is. Nothing compares to the feeling of finishing a perfect race on any of the gorgeous tracks in this game. Dammit. Now I wanna have a go a Sagarmatha again, and I rented the damn game to a friend... egh... ugh... aaag, withdrawal... symptoms... kicking... in... *turns into a big green monster* Hawke smash! *pummels his way through the nearest wall*

I really could not have said it better myself. I was WAY more a fan of 2097 than any of the others, and it was just because of it\'s classy presentation. The graphics of wip3out were good, but ultimately the upgrade in graphics and framerate meant dropping the amount of detail in surroundings and textures. In comparison to 2097 the backdrops are somewhat more bland, in that there is a lot less detail.

I\'m taking WO:2097 for in game

For FMV\'s, definitely FF8, those were very very very impressive. Sorry dewd, not pics of the fmv\'s, but I\'m sure you\'ve all seen em anyway :D
Probably the earliest flyswatters were nothing more than some sort of striking surface attached to the end of a long stick.

How can you guys forget Crash 3????  Still the best looking ps1 game imo.  Oh yeah is gamecube really 64 bit and xbox 32 bit?  I remeber when sony first showed the ps2 they said "its the first TRUE 128 bit consoles".  Strange I haven\'t heard what bit gamecube or xbox is?

OK, geez, tomorrow I will do a 16-bit version. But only I may do it :)

After all, I am usally the guy who posts the most pictures!

W: 2097 looks good but the textures are not very good. It DOES look very clean though.

You are right, Crash looks great, but the levels were very small and not interactive. In my opinion the graphic includes these points.

Actually, after I think about it more, Virtua Fighter 2 was a damn impressive game. Any of the Capcom fighters was pretty impressive on the Saturn also.

The Virtua Fighter 2 textures were very great and the polygons blew everything out of the water when it came out

a screen -

--------

Then I remembered Last Bronx, which came out late in the USA Saturn\'s life, I remember this game looekd excellent.

It may look kindy crappy. but the charactershave been mega-smoothed out and there is so many polygons here, as the backrounds are all real-time 3D.

In all reality I have played all of those games as mentioned, but none of them are the best looking in the 32-bit domain.

The game that takes the crown is easily Chrono Cross.

It looks better then Vagrant Story even looked on the PSX.  Better then FF9 too...

In fact I\'m still impressed by the graphics every time that I see them.  If anyone has played this game then they know what I\'m talking about.  It just truly is incredible what they managed to get out of the PSX with that game.  I think some of the effects in that game are better during battle are better then some I\'ve seen in the 128-bit era.  It was just plain extraordinary.

Check it out for yourself if you get the chance.  And I tell you, screens don\'t do the game justice.  you have to actually see it in motion.  Oh, and not to mention that load times are also pretty much non-existent too.  Once you beat all the way through Chrono Cross once you actually have the option of doing all of this magic in slow- motion or in fast-forward.  Truly an incredible feat of programming.
