Microsoft already working on XBOX2

London, June 20 (Bloomberg) -- Microsoft Corp. said it plans to release its Xbox video game console in the U.K. in March next year, five months after its U.S. introduction.

The world\'s largest software maker, trying to break into the game industry with the console, said in May the console will go on sale in the U.S. Nov. 8 for $299, matching the price of rival Sony Corp.\'s PlayStation 2.

Microsoft plans to sell Xbox in the U.K. ``next March, give or take a couple of weeks,\'\' said Sandy Duncan, a vice president of the home and retail division at Microsoft in the U.K., speaking at a conference organized by Beeson Gregory Plc in London.

Microsoft\'s existing relationships with U.K. retailers will help sell the consoles here, Duncan said. The company sold 15 titles of personal computer games last year in the U.K. and expects to sell 25 titles next year, he said. "
The company is already working on the next version of Xbox, Duncan said"



Not surprised, they have to in order to keep up with the competition, Heck SONY has been working on PS3 since last year.

I think even Nintendo is working on their next machine but they won\'t release info on it.

You have to have plans for the next machine rolling at about the same time you launch the previous one. 5 Years trying to put together state of the art equipmnet is really not that much time.

Just cuz they said new ersion doesn\'t neccessarily mean  XBOX2, they might mean like PSone kinda thing.


I feel sorry for XBOX lovers in London

Development cycles can be long and they take their toll on the developer\'s personal life as well, so it\'s not a surprise to see them announce it or at least think about what may not be out for 2 or more years.

LOL, sure thing buddy. Listen the sooner they start the better, MS will have some tight ass competetion in game HArdware next gen, so they better get to the drawing board.

Just to make it clear, TheOGodlyThing seems like a X-Box fanbot always protecting it and bashing the ps2. But i really do feel sorry for those in europe.
