What do you expect with it running on a PS2. ANyhow is it me or does that game look like it\'s running on a DC?

You know very well what I mean by that, Sony should have named there system JaggieStation2(just kidding with you) . To many mistakes on the system, one of the biggest was not including Hardware AA.  Software AA will never match the quality and performace of Hardware.

It\'s stupid that in order to get average AA on playstaion2, developers must sacrifice performance, not other way around it. Only cartooney games might get away with this.

To this day I still can\'t undersand why Sony never put Hardware AA in the system design, then again they didn\'t put more than 4mb internal cache in the system either.

Well it looks like IGN has the DC pictures compressed..

Oh, quit *****ing about that jaggies issue..
Its dead..

Developers now know how to get AA.. and FSAA..

Sonys plan is that PS2 should be on the market for about 5 years..Then the PS3 comes along and takes over..

I dont really know why they didnt include AA in the hardware..
Perhaps because they wanted developers to be able to come up with diffrent ways, better ways..
I mean, 5 years is along time..

Just a though..

I agree, but I never said that PS2 couldn\'t do AA, In summery I was saying that it can\'t do AA nearly as well as HARDWARE and if ps2 does use AA, performance must be sacrificed. So this then leads me to my next point, maybe the developers of DOA2 didn\'t want to sacrfice performance for smoother grpahics, considering ps2 was still new to them.

Figures why you think the X-box is leagues above the PS2. DOA2 is considerably throwing around more polys. Has much more background depth and more defined characters. Overall it is pushing tons more than SC.

** Not saying that DOA2 is a better game, I prefer SC, but technically DOA2 has more in the gfx department. And to me DOA3 doesn\'t look leagues above DOA2.

By all accounts DOA2 for the Japan PS2 launch was pretty nasty, by the same token the Hardcore version for PS2 looked slightly better than the DC DOA2, although one review I read claimed the controls on Hc were a bit sluggish. I hear combined sales on the two systems of the four versions of almost the exact same game did poorly. Doesn\'t make DOA3 sound like a must have title now does it.

So to be honest fatson, I don\'t know what version you saw. I will say the in game shots from DOA3 I saw posted during E3 are no big deal. In game the backgrounds look much better but the detail of the fighters themselves in action is nothing to brag on.

Unless you get to move a lot with no other characters on the screen, most of the shots shown are just CG

I understand where you are comming from, Myself I never cared for DOA series, but let me say this DOA3 for XBOX was running on beta alpha2 development kits, and still look tons bette rthan DO2 for PS2. Just imagine what the final version will look like, and how well it will perform, smooth as silk.

As for SC, granted DO2 is pushing more, but SC still look just as good.

Fair enough. But you must also remember that DOA2 for the PS2 was merely a port of the Naomi version. By no means was it pushing the PS2. Soul Calibur has amazing animation and textures. That\'s why it looks great. I just meant technically DOA2 is doing more than SC. Like I said, I prefer SC anyhow.

i never want to believe hype , i like ps2 the most now , well becaus its the only one ( besides DC ) wich i can play right now , id rather not listen to hype caus sony sorta screwed me over on the 10 times better then DC or all that stuff they were saying....
