Well seeing how it was rumored so long ago and now hearing that square wants to promote online play I think it is almost a given.

Here is a link of the  news that was reported on gamspot a  while back http://www.zdnet.com/gamespot/stories/news/0,10870,2642106,00.html

If you put that with the fact that square is pushing online and wants to make ff wide spread across the country It is a given. And seeing how sqaure says they have been in talks with MS for so long I would suspect that FFXI will be announced.

While not difficult to conclude from the evidence thus far, It hasn\'t been announced. You shouldn\'t state it as fact (in the title).

This is a pretty old article...

But still, it would be a pretty smart move to port this game over to the Xbox. The more users, the merrier, ya know?

I know this is old news thus that is why I stated "Here is a link from the news a while back"

But if you put that with the news that square wants to take ff world wide online and xbox has BB right out the box and the online service should be up early 2002 it is almost a given that ffXI  will be on xbox. Plus they have been in talks with MS for a while.

I did state that as fact ETHUGG I should have said it differently my bad.

while true its the most likely of all titles (due to the online nature)...i think your grabbing at air for things here.  People have been hoping Square would develope for XBox for AGES.

"you wait til E3, then you\'ll see"

EVERYTIME it hasnt happened.  Plus te fact that Square, Namco and Enix (i think they are the three) are teaming up to ensure that the PS2 is the most successful console.

Think about it, they would have to develop the ENTIRE game again, almost from scratch.  Even MGSX has hardly started developement, so IF it did go to XBox, it would be a LONG time waiting

all i can say XBox is, dont get your hopes up bud...if you wanna play Square games, buy a PS2

Square always releases FF games on the pc.  So it wouldn\'t take long for them to port it over from the pc to the x-box. :cool:

HAHAHAHA....wouldn\'t you like to see that, but fat chance of it happening. Well square said they have been talking to MS for while. And seeing how they have high hopes for online. It seems more and more true. And the fact that they do make FF on pc. And it would not take ffXI a long to come out on xbox. They could be developing it now. Who\'s to say. But it is interesting how everything leans more and more to a FF on xbox.

i always preferred ff7 and ff8 on the pc
d3d compatibility AND the loading times were cut down tremeously

no ff9 tho, :(

Who cares? Square should release FFXI on Xbox. FFXI is online only with a monthly charge. More consoles = More users = More money. And M$ could talk with Square all they want. Doesn\'t mean jack.

are ALL PS2 exclusives..

And Sony said on E3 that Square remains Sony exclusive..

Square has teamed up with some other big developers that are gonna support PS2 on the online market..
Pretty sweet for us. (PS2 fellows!)
