I don\'t know what came over me...  Actually, I guess I was just looking for a game to play with someone who wasn\'t a very good gamer...

Regardless, I ended up messing with the aging 13" b/w tv set that I have next to my computer (in the dining room).  You see, I have my NES hooked up to that bad boy for all my Punch-Out!! needs.  Today, though, I busted out the orange beast -- the Zapper.

That\'s right, the order of the day was Duck Hunt.  By nightfall I had made it to level 16, and even rekindled a long lasting Duck Hunt rivalry between my dad and me.  (Which I won, by the way!)

Sitting down and reflecting, I wonder if the game had jaggies...  Heh, yeah right!

I miss that game....

I always sucked at Duck Hunt, and most of the time I resorted to cheating by getting up close to the TV and aiming at point blank range.  It was all great fun, though.

why oh why did they include that dog without the ability to shoot it...

SO many kids would have dreamed of being mario. SO many would have dreamed of being ni link and his adventures. But I bet MOST kids dreamt of shooting that damn dog.... if only, if only

and duck hunt was the second/first game I ever owned on a console... second cos I played it second, but it was on the same cart as mario

now, id be very pleased if we saw Duck Hunt Cubed
Probably the earliest flyswatters were nothing more than some sort of striking surface attached to the end of a long stick.

Of course.  In fact, one time I really went for the kill because when it came up I lost my train of thought for a second and thought it was a duck.

700meg of Roms and 2.1 gig of Abandonware and old games ranging from Monochrome masterpieces to the good ole Text adventures (Leather Goddesses of Phobos kicks ass! As does Zork!) right on up to somewhat recent classics like Quake and A10 Silent Thunder II and everything in between.l

It\'s amazing how some people won\'t even TOUCH an old game, no matter how good it is, just because the graphics aren\'t up to par with todays standards. Kinda sad actually....

How\'s this for really lousy skills? Putting the gun right up to the TV so it touches the screen and still miss the damn targets. :nut:
July 2002: If you had bought $1000.00 worth of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00. Enron, $16.50 left. Worldcom, $5.00 left. If you had bought $1,000.00 worth of Budweiser beer one year ago, drank it all and turned in the cans for the 10 cent deposit, you would have $214.00. Based on the above, my current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.

I remember when a friend of mine used to play a lot of Duck Hunt and Mario. We were very young - I didn\'t own a console back then, but my friend had a Nintendo. I remember he could play almost whole Mario game with his eyes shut :)

Duck Hunt was a funny game - just makes me sad that the cartridge got destroyed, as my friend still has his nintendo dusting on the shelf...

Those were the times...

I miss that game.. I\'d play it right now if I had a Zapper. Unfortunately, both of the ones I once had are broken..

I found myself in HELL the other day (aka Funco Land) playing the original Nintendo "PUNCHOUT" and you know what? I discovered that I enjoyed that game more then I do 95% or more then these crappy new games.

Then, I walked over and picked up one of the used lightguns for sell. Ah, I remember fondly trying to shoot the dog in DuckHunt that would laugh at me..

Damn him..
