Guy Ritchie is fast becoming one of the greatest directors in my book, as he directs his movies with fast, furious, intellectual and very ogirinal style. He shows that British movies with lower budget than those hollywood mega-movies can be so much better and so much funnier!
I present another Guy Ritchie masterpiece ( after the wonderful Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels ) - SNATCH
If I\'d start telling you the plot... it would take time, space and it wouldn\'t be worth it. You just need to SEE this movie to appreciate it. The only thing I can say, is that the plot(s) wrap around one big diamond. One complex ball of strings - but beware that the ball won\'t choke you... to laughter.
The plot is just SO clever, and so well accomplished, that it leaves you with a very good taste and the need to see the movie again. I\'ve done so, three times, and still it is as fresh and great as it was the first time. Not forgetting the funniness.
Brad Pitt truly shines in his role as a \'Pikey\' called Mickey, a man nobody understands - a fast-speaking, tough as a coffin nail boxer and very clever fellow.
There\'s few anonymities on lead-roles, but they\'re good. Really good. The names didn\'t catch, or leave into my mind, but they will surely be known across the world due to this movie. And I like it that way - the lesser known the cast, the more \'realistic\' it seems. And to this movie, the british actors suited like a fist in the eye... because, well, this is a british movie!
Anyways, enough with the gibberish - I recommend this movie to EVERYONE who likes british movies, comedy, action and Guy Ritchie.
Go rent it. Heck, go buy the DVD - as it has a good amount of extras and the movie is re-watchable... again and again...
