First of all... I\'m not sure why anyone would be interested in my little journey to Asia
But I just wanted to share the realisation of a long-time dream with all my fellow forum members.
The trip to Japan was a gift from my parents for my graduation. First we all were supposed to go, but just my sister & I ended up going. Which was cool. So we took off last Tuesday on a plane filled with Japanese and a few Finns. Even after the nine-hour flight I was so extatic that I thought the airport looked beautiful & clean. When we got outside, it was hot. VERY very hot. The bus trip to Tokyo was cool, we got to see some nature. When we arrived it was so hot I almost fainted. But soon we got to our fancy hotel, where we just slept the rest of the day.
I\'m not gonna bore u with ALL the details of our trip. But the next four days we got to see Tokyo were incredible. The city was great, filled with life & excitement. All the stores were full of fantastic games most europeans (including me) have never heard of. And even more we have heard of but will get who knows when. There were so many (noisy) arcades with hilarious games. We spent a lot of money in them. Of the places we went to, I think Ginza was the best. It was kinda chic, with big expensive department stores and tall buildings. Or maybe it was Shibuya, the place for young people. Shinjuku was completely different, towering skyscrapers & five-star hotels. We went to the 52nd floor of a really tall building called the Matsutomo building, if I remember correctly. Too bad it wasn\'t a clear day, the view would have been great.
The Japanese were incredibly nice & friendly. When on the first day we were completely lost, a young couple came to help us without us even asking. No one stared, except one suspicious old man. Everyone wanted to do their best to help us, even though many didn\'t speak english at all. There were so many businessmen, and all the women were stylish. I think Japanese people are very beautiful.
Of course, I ended up spending all my money. I bought a fabulous yukata (a cotton kimono), perfect despite the lack of a common language between me & the salesperson. I wish I could have bought games, they looked so very tempting. The music stores had tons of game music. It kinda maked me blue. Mostly I bought all kindsa girly stuff like clothes & jewelry.
But then our trip came to an end
And we had to head home. But I will certainly be back, because the land has stolen my heart. Next time, I\'ll see the countryside & mount Fuji!
