Do you think the FF movie will tank?

I think it is going to go down sinking I mean it will have to compete with scray movie 2 which has only been the box office for a week. And seeing how the last scray movie sold over 150million the second one is sure to sell. Plus AI will be in it\'s third week at the box office. And cats and dogs which opened number one at the box office is sure to be in the mix too. Then a week later jurrassic park 3 hit\'s which is sure to be a blockbuster seller. I think the FF movie may be good, but it won\'t do squat at the box office just too much competition going up against it.

But FF is such a different movie than all of those.  It\'ll draw attention to a different crowd.  I hope it does well, but a lot of people still don\'t like computer generated things.  Most are okay with an add on in certain parts, but when it comes to a full-feature movie it kind of scares them.  (Mostly grandmas fall into this category, along with my sister).  My sister wouldn\'t even go see Shrek \'cause it was computer generated!

I don\'t know about \'tank\', but I think it\'s ok to say Tomb Raider will be the most successful game movie this year. That\'s just my opinion though, I\'ll be seeing FF, as I\'m sure a lot of people here will.

hmm... I always though it was going to tank as well.  However, being the wierdos that they are, Roper and Ebert decided it was a great film...

I\'m glad that they didn\'t bash it, but I think it\'s mostly positive \'cause the computer generated thing is so new to them.

I want it to do well real bad! But I\'m thinking that the audiances just aren\'t ready.

Yes Ryu, that was the first Ebert and Roper show that I have seen onit. They said it was good but... If it doesn\'t do well.... Square is in a whole **** load of trouble finnacially.

Some people.

I think computer generated movies have to be more Kid orientated if they are going to sell. I mean it should be good for adults too, but it has to be able to capture the younger crowd. I  mean look at the toy story movies each of them have grossed over 100million. And shrek is on it\'s way to grossing 250million if it has not done it already. And i think FF seems to be leaning to the that teenage to adult crowd. Which it needs to pull in the kids if it is going to sell. But there is just too much competition out. And millions don\'t even know what Final fantasy is. I think they should push back the release when all the big movies are not set to arrive. I mean planet of the apes at the end of july so that gives the movie too weeks til that big opening.

I see it tanking. I mean they spent so much money on the movie I hope it would do well. The competition is just too tuff and FF is not that wide spread amoung movie buffs.

When Square was talking to their stock holders (remember, they might have lied a little ), they said that it only had to rank between 20th to 30th in Ticket sales to make a profit.  I don\'t know if Square was just trying to get the angry stock holders off their back, or if this is really true.

Well if it cost 200million to make it would have to gross over 200million to make a profit.

Which is a heck of a lotta money.

Where did you guys get this "over 200 million" thing.  I heard it was over 500 million.

Yes, I think this movie is gonna go down the drains. Sad, but true.

But who\'s to say it isn\'t a good movie. It\'s just that people probably won\'t dig it. Personally, from the trailers I have seen, it would have been much better to see this acted out by real people instead of computer graphics. Well, that\'s just my opinion.
