. . . For example, the creation of woman after man. This myth was created to justify the patriarchal (is that the correct term.) society of the past. The story of Eve is very similar to that of Pandora. It\'s the "curious" & "deceitful" nature of woman what causes horrible things in both. And, to no surprise, both were written by men.
I think we humans are animals. . .
. . .What I hate most are those people who try to force their beliefs onto other people. So what if others are living their lives "wrong". What gives u right to judge them? And why does it even bother u? No one knows exactly what in this world is "wrong" or "right", in moral questions. To me, wrong is anything that hurts other people or oneself. Anything else, fine by me. I do not believe in "sin". Thus, I do not think homosexuality, for example, is sin, for it does not (normally) hurt anyone.
The main difference between Eve and Pandora is that Pandora was created as punishment for man. Eve was created from companionship of man. And man sinned just as much as women on the Adam/Eve story.
Humans are animals. I agree.
Religion should not be pushed on anyone, just as science shouldn\'t be pushed on anyone.
The one thing I differ in your statement is on homosexuality. I believe that is is a sin. Sin can bring enjoyment and not hurt anyone, but it hurts the soul. I\'ve been struglling with this for a while though. I have a couple gay friends and I\'ve recently met a Trans-gender. And the more I talk to them, the morte I realise that it is a sin, one that has been covered up quite well by Satan. I also believ in original sin, so for the genetics argument, I\'m not buying it. I really wish SmallLady didn\'t open up this "Pandoras Box"

, but you want to know what I believe, and you got it!
AlteredBeastPlease stop dissing all translations other than KJV!!!
1 Corinthians 15:29 (KJV)
"Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead?"
1 Corinthians 15:29 (NIV)
Now if there is no ressurection, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why are people baptized for them?"
It says the same thing. Now, about baptizing for the dead:
"The present tense suggests that at Corinth people were currently being baptized for the dead. But because Paul does not give any more information about the practice, many attempts have been made to interpret the concept. Three of these are:
1) Living believers were baptized for believers who died before they were baptized, so that they too, in a sense, would not miss out on baptism.
2) Christians were being baptized in anticipation of the ressurection of the dead.
3) New converts were being baptized to fill the ranks of Christians who died.
At any rate, Paul mentions this custom almost in passing, using it in his arguments substaining the ressurection of the dead, but without necessarily approving of the practice. Probably the passage will always remain abscure." - Kenneth Barker
So, there ya go. It\'s a prcatice that is not intended for everyone, but done in a secluded part of the country. I\'m not saying that you shouldn\'t, just that you shouldn\'t bash people for
not doing it.
I also have a question about the rest of your post about Heaven/Hell, could you give me specific refferences to the different kingdoms you speak of? Thanks.
