Hmm lets see. Normally I would start out this thread by being sarcastic againest Sony and how they treat us PAL gamers poorly. Well thats been said many a time and nothing we can do will change it. Anyway heres some latest release dates shifted and some new ones.
Operation Winback - 27/07/01 - What this game still not out ? Sure isn\'t and worse still its really crap according to most reviews. Why they are even bothering to release this at such a late date is an insult in itself. Anyway I predict this game will do poorly. Am I sad ? Am I heck.
Robot Warlords - 27/07/01 - Boring-me-do Robot sim. Like Operation Winback EB has had a spot on its selves for this game for so long that its an insult it stepping onto our PAL shores expecting to be bought. Thats right game, get outa here, we don\'t you!
Code Veronica + Wesker DVD Bundle - 07/09/01 - Thats right the date has been set. Quiet a long time to wait and worse still its going to be £44.99. Geez you can buy a second hand DC to play the game on for that. Also the DVD is only for people who preorder the game whilst socks last. Also don\'t expect 50/60 Hz in this according to OPS2 and the evidence which was Capcom\'s Onimusha Warlords.
NHL 2002 - 28/09/01 - Hmm the first one was a framerate mess yet Ice Hockey is still pretty neat. Lets hope EA sort this one out.
Project Eden - 28/09/01 - ABOUT TIME THIS HAD A RELEASE DATE SET. Infront and EB both claimed July but with Infront proceding to set a date in July with box art. Funny thing is they are taking preorders like its going to come out then. The main UK mags all said September and it seems to be. Lets hope they do a good job with conversion. Have we seen a game by this company (Core?) yet ? Could 50/60Hz be a reality ?
Still quite far off though. This is one of my personal wanted list games.
Dark Cloud - Sep 01 - Still no offical date but its moved a month further forward. Not an amazing game as it is. Ill be skipping this one from the many reviews i\'ve read and the fact that they seem to think releasing this game Sep (and probably late Sep) is acceptable.
Ephemeral Fantasia - Sep 01 - Mearly put this in as a joke. With this game recieving a 3 / 10 score by PSW, who probably reviewed the final version. Why isn\'t this released in the UK, actually who cares about this game?
Lotus Challenge - Sep 01 - Looks like it could be a good game. Didn\'t know much about the previous release date so I won\'t comment.
18 Wheeler - 26/10/01 - Hmm Sega\'s 3rd PS2 game (after Crazy Taxi and Zombie Revenge). Recieved fairly poorly on the DC and if Sega won\'t let the game be changed expect nothing special.
Baldurs Gate - Oct 01 - Moved a month later unfortunatly. Going to be an amazing game. Can\'t wait for this one. Shame its probably going to be christmas time.
Twisted Metal Black - Oct 01 - Hmm differen\'t to what Ethan_Hunt reported. Still ages away. We\'ll see. Should be a very good game. Hopefully the conversion will include 50/60 hz.
Fifa 2002 - 02/11/01 - Another year another Fifa. Do these titles seem to be released closer together now a days. The fifa engine is pretty solid. Expect a good game but I doubt it will be much differen\'t to any previous incarnations.
Airblade / Dropship / Run Like Hell / Wipeout / Tony Hawks 3 - Nov 01 - Too early to tell. Its getting late on in the year though. Any release date slips will see these games shifting into 2002.
Devil May Cry - 07/12/01 - Im supprised a release date has been set for this. Should be a good title. Im expecting the worse. i.e. Capcom poor conversion and a easy to complete game which becomes repetitive. I hope its not though.
Final Fantasy X / Jax and Daxter - Dec 01 - Like Nov expect these to slip. I predict Final Fantasy X to be April 2002. I don\'t why I just get this feeling.
Metal Gear Solid 2 / Virtua Fighter 4 - Feb 02 - Hmm well nothing new with MGS2, we won\'t see it in 2001. VF4 has been pushed back by about 3 months unfortunatly. This is quiet a bad blow. Remember these could slip further.
Still no news on Tekken 4 or The Getaway.
So thats it for this post. I\'ve avoided slating the PAL format as much as possible. Its a bit of a grim lineup. I just hope a import mod chip is released so we can see some of these games earlier. Hope you enjoyed the read.
