Errr,
Birth of a Nation
Alexander Nevsky
Battleship: Potemkin
The Grand Illusionetc etc... All predate
The Seven SamuraiActually I love Akira Kurosawa. Do you like
Hidden Fortress? I remember seeing
Ran when I was a kid and I was totally blown away. As some may recall, The Seven Samurai was remade as
The Magnificent Seven, and
Yojimbo was remade as
A Fistful of Dollars.
One of my favorite directors is Wim Wenders, and my favorite film is
Paris, Texas. It\'s beautiful and sadly powerful. Stunning cinematography by Robbie Mueller. Wenders is planning a DVD release later this year! Here\'s one few have seen by Michael Cimino:
Year of the Dragon. It\'s so cool.
Oh yeah, I\'ve got to say this:
Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai is utterly brilliant! Jim Jarmusch is an awesome director. You should all see his other films like
Down by Law and
Night on Earth and
Mystery Train.
