PS2 picture worse with Scart than RF!

I can\'t understand, I recently went from a 14" TV with RF cable to a 20" with SCART. The picture is worse! When I play Gran Turismo 3 and ISS Pro Evo 2 I get like chriss-chross paterns, its especially bad on the players in ISS, and noticable on billboards etc in GT3. Is there something wrong with the TV? Would Svideo be a better option?

well my scart makes the pic look excellent. it makes everything clearer and crisp. maybe your tv old, as my quite new and makes the pic lookm very good

The picture quality will always look better on a smaller TV, but I don\'t know if that\'s the whole explaination.

Perhaps you just bought a crap tv.
If you go to s-video, make sure the tv is s-video enabled (doubtfull) and you will need a scart block to plug the s-video lead into.

Yeah I got a scart block and svideo cable, oh and guess what, it didn\'t work.

A certain way to test if this problem is just because you have gone up some screen sizes is to try RF on this bigger TV and see if that looks even worse. RF on this bigger TV shouldn\'t look worse than scart. If it does theres definatly problems and you may need your TV fixed. You definatly have the correct AV channel selected? Also if theres 2 scart sockets use the first one (AV1) as thats true RGB.

Finally check the scart cable, it should be fully RGB, with all pins availible, if it isn\'t then it won\'t be much better than RF. Still shouldn\'t be worse though.

I\'ll try it with the RF cable on the 20" TV, will let you guys know the results.
