Who is buying Akira on DVD tommorw?

i got Akira....amazing how a 15 year movie looks this good on DVD......................................ANIME ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!!

I\'ve had Ghost in the Shell DVD for a while.

and it is truly a great one, along with a few others.

but Akira ranks above all else in my opinion. It is just so cool.

What about the first five minutes?  What sets this movie apart form any other?

It sucks that the 5.1 DD sound is only used with the English option. The Japanese audio is only in Prologic, bah.

can you still hear through all speakers? meaning frontleft,middle,frontright,backleft and back right? even though it wont sound as good as THX?

well i couldn\'t find any of the special edtions so i just settled with the regular one

Well you hear from the front left + right, center, and the surround is mono. It\'s not just that, w/o 5.1 the sound isn\'t nearly as good. 5.1 has much richer and deeper sounds. (not to mention it\'s much louder) Oh well.
