Exactly!! If dev\'s don\'t have to wrestle with the hardware, all they\'ll have to do is hone the gameplay. It\'ll be like in the 16-bit era, when gameplay was considered at least as equally important as graphics.

Yet all RL is is a better looking Rogue Squadron with no gameplay enhancements.  Same with SSB:M and Waverace.

RL has no enhancements?

What do you call the totally new targeting screen? And how about the feature that allows you to control your wingmen? There is also advanced enemy AI instead of just fighters on mindless cycles.

Besides, most sequals do not have enhancements anyways. I don\'t see any enhancements with DOA3, Tekken 2,3,4, the Street Fighter series, ect ect. Most sequals are rehashes.

I\'m not surprised people don\'t complain more often because of no originality. Sequals to great games are good, even if they\'re basically the same game. \'Nuff said.

Hmm, didn\'t read about being able to control your wingmen or a new targeting system.  Your right, those are big enhancements.

Anyway, don\'t think I\'m not getting a GC.  It\'s just that when people like Weltall say crap like Xbox doesn\'t have a game that is in the graphical ballpark of RL I get a little mad.

Luigi\'s Mansion looks really cool and different and Waverace looks bad ass, though it looks to be exactly the same as the first but with better graphics.  Are there at least new tricks or a tricks mode?  I just didn\'t like Rogue Squadron for N64, and thought RL was going to be exactly the same, that is why I really wasn\'t looking forward to this game.  If those things that Jumpman said are true, then maybe I\'ll have to check RL out too.  Is it going to be multiplayer, like two player cooperative or deathmatch?

"This is the best looking game I\'ve ever seen. Period. The fact that Nintendo can produce such high quality graphics is a real shame on the XBox. Nothing XBox has shown is even in the graphical ballpark of Rogue Leader.

Though I\'m really impressed by the Graphics of RL,I\'ve seen X-Box games in Alpha looking very very good(Project Ego,DOA3 for example) with the best graphics I\'ve ever seen...

Yes! Totally agreed!  but there\'s even a little "downside"...GC is the Less-programable...nothing is perfect...there are two sides to everything!
He has the power of both worlds
Girl: What power… beyond my expectations?
AND IT\'S PERSONAL
Demon: No… the legendary Sparda!?
Dante: You\'re right, but I\'m his son Dante!

What the heck are you smoking?  You don\'t see any games on the Xbox that looks better than RL?  Um are you blind?  Seriously!

First of all, those are definitely in game FMV shots.....

When you take a look at the gameplay pic, it is not that impressive.  The environments are way too simple.  No trees, cars, ppl, or other sophisticated moving objects like you would usually see.  It is bland and lifeless.  This gives the programmers more room to work on the textures, models, etc.  I mean if the game was in a Shenmue like world and it still retains this graphical quality then it would be the best looking game ever.  As it stands, it is not.  Impressive?  Yes.  Best looking game ever?  No way!  Not by a long shot!

The various Rebel fighters you will pilot are made up of roughly 15,000 polygons, while enemy fighters start at 3,000 polygons and can be as high as 130,000 polygons, such as in the case of the Star Destroyer you encounter.

Lets do that math, shall we?

130,000x60fps=7,800,000 polys. Almost 8million. Now we take the Ships. Lets say, in one show I saw about 17 ties, with the SD there. And there weree about 3 or 4 rebel ships on. Plus the Correlian Corvette.

17x3,000(I\'ll just take the lowest one)x60=3,060,000

Now take the rebels:

15,000x4x60=3,600,000

I don\'t know how much the Corvette runs in polys so I\'ll just leave it out.

So that scene that I saw a picture of was....

3.600,000
3,060,000
7,800,000= 14,460,000

So we are talking around roughly 15 million polygons in that screen shot, give or take a few. This is way over 9 million. All of those numbers are exact.

I would rather play Super Smash Brothers Melee than DoA3, TTT, or any other fighter for that matter. I hated all fighters till my cousin came to my grandma\'s, we hooked his N64 up and he got me to play it. A very fun game. I bought it right after. Plus, now there are going to be like 18 bonus characters, new items, better graphics was a must (Fox looked like he was made of plastic). Its a sequel a rehash, whatever you want it. It is just improving on the first one.

I have no reason to get the XBox, Unreal Tournament, Goldeneye, and Perfect Dark are all I need for FPS.

Who are you trying to kid? Those are all ingame, realtime shots, Don\'t you see the rader on the upper left shows the enemy units.
Also FACTOR 5 HATES, absolutely HATES FMV. They hate it so badly that they have said they would never use it. It takes away from the game and puts you in a place where it doesn\'t belong, then to jump back into Ingame just makes it seem less real.

You are the idiot T****s, If you have EVER seen the Empire Strikes Back, The Battle of Hoth is shown. THERE IS NOTHING BUT SNOW!! If you watch the beginning, Han says: "There isn\'t enough life on this planet to.... (I Forgot the rest)" There isn\'t anything there, its portraying the movie as best as it can. There are about 150 troopers running around on the ground shooting things at once, ATATs are firing back at you, ATSTs are running along the ground. The Imperial troops are running. All of the snow is bumped mapped to give it a feel that it is real. I am off to go see Rush Hour 2 now, I\'ll let Jumpman kill the rest of your arguement.:wedge:

um so you are saying they are gameplay pics?  All of them?  LOL what a fockin joke!  They look like "tech" demos to me.  In DOA2, the fmv in game graphics uses up to 3 million pps while the actual gameplay uses much less.  Same case here.  Again, the graphics are way too simple....It consists of layers and layers of long empty backgrounds and buildings at best.  I say take the environments of a game like Shenmue or even Zelda, where they have houses, trees, forests, animals, cars, buildings, villages, and such, and if they can retain that much detail with the same graphical quality then it will be the best game graphically ever.  As for now?  No way!

As for you Jedi?  Are you seriously getting emotionally distress over my comment?  Gawsh grow up man its just a fockin game!  Haha

And you gave an example of how they bumped map snow to the point of realism....

um its snow you are talking.  How hard is it to make snow "look real".  Like I said the graphics are way too simple.  Take a look at Project Ego where they individually create every blade of grass and leaves....now that is impressive.

Then we have the buildings.....

It is a star wars environment so of course they don\'t have to re-create a whole city with moving cars, windows, trees, ppl, etc.....I mean all the focus is on just that one building....

The environments is way too simple....

Then when they fight outer space there also isn\'t much going on.  All you see are stars and planets and the focus can simply be place on the fighter pilots and such.

Too simple......

How else do you think that they would make snow real? This is what it looked like in the movie, what else should they do, recreate every little snowflake:rolleyes: This is a shooter, you are usually above ground, its not something that you are near as close as DOA3.

If there was a battle above your head with F16s  Fighting everywhere, enemy ships bombing the ground, Would you drive a car around or take a walk?(don\'t answer that:D) Bespin has no trees. How much do you know about Star Wars, and Yeah there are windows:rolleyes:

What else are you going to see in Space?!?!?! Think before you say something stupid. Next time, If you are in a battle, are you going to pay attention to a planet below you? You just want to get shot down I guess when you are playing

Rush Hour 2 was great, very funny, I recommened it to anyone.

Buh?  What?  You doubt the GCN\'s power that much?  Since any words of mine would be incredibly hollow to your biased moronic ways, I\'ll let Gamespot and the producer\\directors of Factor 5 to speak for me:

Quote
Making use of absolutely no CG, Rogue Leader uses nearly every special effect the GameCube has to offer, including bump mapping, reflection mapping, particle effects, aliasing, and cel shading for amazingly detailed graphics.

Wow, that pretty much puts a big giant "retard" sign on your forehead doesn\'t it?  Oh, wait a second, there\'s another sentence in your paragraph.  What\'s that?  Only 3 million PPS in DOA3?  I could have sworn it was much more then that, but since I\'m debating with YOU and not the developers, I\'ll bring this little piece of information to light:

Quote
Inreference to Rogue Leader 2:

When asked how many polygons the GameCube is pushing in Rogue Leader, Tosti offered a rough estimate of 150,000 polygons per frame or roughly 9 million polygons a second.

9 million pps?!  Aw gee... If your DOA3 number was accurate, this kind of puts those numbers to shame.  Thank god they aren\'t.

*SPANKED*

Hmm... well, how do you know if the screens of Project Ego aren\'t just in-game FMV?? Since you can\'t trust Factor 5\'s words, you naturally can\'t trust the makers of Project Ego either, right??

Tshirts, this game is supposed to be a shooter. What do you expect to do in it, enter a bathroom to crap?? Windows, cars?? WTF do you need those for?? The fact that so many things are going on in such an illustrious enviroment is impressive enough by itself.

RL looks incredible, and so do Project Ego and DOA3. Stop *****ing about it.

I swear Nintendo fanboys are the most emotionally discharged bunch!  Dood it is a simple opinion!  I am sure many will agree with me that the game is not the "most graphically impressive game ever"...

Its a fockin opinion......

As for you Ryu....

I never said anything about CGI graphics.  I said in game FMV...do you know what that fockin means?  FMV graphics using the game engine.  Basically the "winning" shots in DOA2, and cinematic shots in Shenmue and such....these are FMVs and the graphics differ greatly from actual gameplay shots.  They tend to use more polygons and the shots that you are posting all look like FMV shots to me.  Look at the gameplay shots, they are not as impressive.  Anyone can make great looking cinematic shots....*cough Madden cough*....but actual in game graphics are a different story.

As for you Jedi....

Although it is in outer space.....the environments are too simple thus the developers are able to focus more on the models than the background.  Man if the guys who made Shenmue were able to use a background that consists of only a bunch of stars, trust me they would come up with something as graphically good if not better than RL.
