Olsen Twins (Almost Legal)

You may remember The Olsen Twins, Mary-Kate and Ashley, who became famous for acting as the scene-stealing little girl, Michelle, on Full House.  Since then they have formed their own production company, Dualstar, and spent a large portion of the 1990s "having a blast" cranking out prepubescent fodder in the form of movies, TV specials, videos and books.

The twins, who turned 15 years old in June and have gotten their collective boobies, want to do something more serious. "Mary-Kate and I have had lots of fun making stuff about slumber parties and boys, but we really want to do a serious drama," said Ashley

After a night of brainstorming and pillow fights with friends, they decided on a topic that has been in the news lately.  " There has been lots of stuff lately about Jenna Bush, the president\'s daughter.  The press has been saying she has drinking beer and smoking cigarettes.  But she\'s just a girl like me and Ashley and maybe she has lots of pressure and stuff because her dad is the president,"  said Mary-Kate, who will portray the reportedly out-of-control Jenna Bush in the made-for-TV movie entitled "Pardon Me, Daddy."

"We\'ve been filming for 3 weeks and it\'s almost done," said Ashley, who will share screen time with her twin as Jenna\'s sister, Barbara. "The focus will be on Jenna, from her point of view of what it\'s like to be in college when your dad is president and stuff.  I remember one day when Mary-Kate was doing a really important scene when she\'s feeling really overwhelmed, and she\'s crying and drinking a beer in the shower because she\'s so stressed out.  There\'s no dialog.  It was so powerful.  I cried.  I just wanted to get in the shower with her and hug her, like we do at home sometimes."

"Yeah, it\'s been hard work but I really like it.  We really want to show how hard it is to be a teenager.  Sometimes there\'s so much pressure and it\'s hard but it\'s also about having the love and support of your friends and family," said Mary-Kate.  "My favorite scene is with Ashley, who plays my sister Barbara, and she comes to visit me in college and we\'re at a Frat party.  After about 8 beers each we\'re sitting outside alone talking about how hard life is and how much we love each other and that we would do anything for each other.  Even though we were acting, it was great because we\'re sisters in real life and it was like, really true and stuff.  Having a twin sister is really fun."

"Pardon Me, Daddy" is scheduled to air sometime in September.  It also marks the first time the twins have worked with Bob Saget since "Full House."  Saget is the director and also has a brief scene as President George Bush.  Bea Arthur will appear as Grandma Bush.
